Kerry spars with Cheney on Iraq war (Clark answers)
Although the president has directly criticized Kerry, most of the attacks have come from surrogates such as Cheney, Cabinet members and Republican congressional leaders.

Democrats, meanwhile, have waged counterattacks after rallying to the defense of Kerry.

Retired Gen. Wesley Clark, until recently one of Kerry's rivals for the nomination, told reporters yesterday that Cheney's attack was "unwarranted and unjustified."

As a decorated Vietnam veteran and as a senator, Kerry has demonstrated "an ability to see the big picture, understand the issues, deal with them in a thoughtful way and make strong decisions," Clark said.

Clark, the former supreme NATO commander, also raised questions about the timing of the Bush administration's decision a year ago to unseat Hussein, saying the Iraqi dictator had been effectively contained for the time being. The result, Clark suggested, was to give the al-Qaeda terrorist network "a breathing spell, a recovery spell in which they strengthened and diversified themselves."

1. Yay, Clark!
No more circular firing squad. I knew our candidates would rally behind our nominee. What a powerful chorus they all make!

(Dean's campaigning in SF for Kerry tomorrow.)

3. We do have quite a crew to get behind
Unlike the gop knuckledraggers. Al Sharpton was on Crossfire earlier in the week and jousted as only he can with little tucky carlson. Sharpton said in the 2004 race, republicans want to make an issue of Kerry saying foreign leaders did not want bush in office. He added, in the 2000 election, bush couldn't even name a foreign leader. Yes the firing squad has trained its guns at the white house.

5. I saw that exchange as well...
and was wondering when tuckers tie was going to start spinning!

Rev Al has public speaking down to an art form, he will show no hesitation in bringing out the hard questions that need to be answered.

Clark....I would not want to spar with him myself. His knowledge of issues is boundless, and the way he crushed that FAUX reporter that one time when he was still in the race was awesome.

Edwards has the charm to win many over.

Mosely Braun is dignified and exceptionally intelligent on issues that concern the Dem base, and has an insiders view on the Senate and the WH.

DK is the voice of reason and calm when things get out of hand.

Dean still has a massive support base, and is more than willing to drag out issues that the WH would prefer to remain hidden.

This is one of the most powerful groups I've had the privilege to support!

:)

I am so proud of our candidates, they are really bringing us together.

The democratic unity dinner brings tears to my eyes, just thinking about it.

4. I am an Edwards man
You can probably all search that out from my prior posts. I want Clark to be VP. I think he could help us carry Arkansas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and maybe even Kansas and Colorado. He is what Kerry needs and I hope Kerry makes his selection very soon.

9. Ahhhh
Clark would be an excellent choice. But then, so would Edwards. Or Graham.

They are a fabulous bunch. I wish I could have watched Al in action on Crossfire.
