Kerry's mass mailings lacking in pzazz
Does anybody else get his Mary Cayhill mailing list, and find the e-mails to be boring even when it's about meeting with Howard Dean, or a message from Wes Clark? It seems to me that with the money they are getting from supporters, they could get a better writer. Maybe Howard Dean could recommend somebody. He never did have this problem.
I have finally gotten used to "the real deal" slogan, so that is no biggy. But gimme a break, here. How am I sposed to feel energized and enthused enough to make a donation or buy a t-shirt, if I have to slog through these ((:boring: )) notes all the time? Even when the material itself is showing a pivotal moment in history, it kinda falls flat. I'd say that is unacceptable if we are going to win.

1. Omigod! Kerry campaign mailings boring?
And he is such an engaging, scintillating character himself.

Who would have thought his campaign emails would put trees to sleep.

Go figure.

2. Gotta agree
They need a little extra somethin'. The little "From the Desk of John Kerry" header at the top isn't exactly riveting.

And, Am I the only one that thinks John Kerry's signature looks like it might belong to one of the founding fathers or something? It's very formal looking.

4. Like candidate, like mailing.
Kerry is the most boring person ever.

His plan is to be so boring that nobody hates him because they can't stay up through any of his appearances long enough to figure out what he stands for.

Then when everybody hates Bush because the world is screwed up, they will vote against Bush and therefore vote for Kerry.

That's the plan you see, bore bore bore people, confuse them through deliberate ambiguity, and make them think anything is better than Bush.

5. Maybe a little lackluster but
once the campaign really kicks into high gear I think they will become more exciting. :-)

6. I wish I could get an email
I've contributed to Dean, Clark and Kerry. Dean and Clark had great email programs--with both state and national messages from Clark and rousing messages from Dean. Nothing so far from Kerry. He should hire a moveon.org volunteer--they know how to get Dems organized online.

7. Campaign mailing/Mary Beth Cayhill
It's a campaign mailing by Mary Beth Cayhill, and I would think that just by going to johnkerry.com you could get on the list if you wanted. Next time one comes, I'll check the email address. It actually has very good information, discusses current issues and speaking engagements. It's just in need of editing, to make it more personal, less like an advertisement.
I'm mentioning this because I think it's impt to reach people. I don't find Kerry to be boring, quite the opposite. He does a great job in person, and gives powerful speeches. I think he is a strong candidate, but something is missing as far as the line between an advertisement and a powerful written communication. Yeah, I agree that a moveon.org volunteer would be able to do this. Howard Dean also has better luck with this sort of outreach, or getting the right help with it.
