1. So sad that 7/10ths of a percent
could cause such acrimony.

2. I support a unity ticket, but Obama missed quite a few votes - so that doesn't help his case.

3. That is actually a misleading gauge. If most Dems supported Bush with their vote that

would register as voting WITH majority of Dems.

Since Kerry and Feingold had only 13 senators voting FOR Iraq withdrawal in 2006, THEY would be factored in as voting AGAINST Dem majority and Lieberman would be factored in as voting WITH the Dem majority.

So - it really is a deceitful tool that has been concocted to DUPE the gullible. Wonder why?

4. Is is a tool, or just one barometer, as you say? Certainly the quality of the votes is important.
you sound awfully paranoid.

7. I remember when this new 'tool' popped up. I knew then it was deliberately misleading
and set up to con Dem primary voters.

This 'tool' was a subject of a few threads at the time.

9. It's also a 'tool' to highlight your own point.
Aren't all statistics just 'tools', and inherently misleading according to our own biases?

8. good point
as you suppose, that means merely identifying with the majority is not a good enough measure of the value or propriety of a vote.
