Zogby: A pollster of unparalleled excellence
Edited on Tue Feb-05-08 11:59 AM by Tropics_Dude83
Not a snark post. LOL. I just looked at his 2006 mid-term final polls from 11/2/2006. He nailed Webb's victory in VA, Brown's in Ohio, Whitehouse's in RI when some had Chaffee just hanging on, and a narrow Tester win in Montana. He SWEPT all of the senate races in 2006. Wow.

So far in 2008, he had Iowa 31-26 Obama, Nevada-46-39 Clinton and S.C Obama up by 15 (factoring in that polls have undecideds) he's done terrific.

All posters blew New Hampshire but his 2 day samples had a swing towards Clinton making it just a 2 point race.

So, all in all, Zogby rocks. I trust him. Obama will win California. MO is 45-42 Obama so it's too close to call.

5. Well, this is the primary season after all... if you're into polls.
I prefer to watch the returns. Polls ... eh ... they suck.

6. Oh and he nailed the Florida GOP primary too
All of the talking heads said Romney was surging but Zogby had Mccain 36-31 on election day. Those were the exact final results. I fail to see why Zogby would crash and burn on the eve of his biggest test when he's rocked every preceding test.

4. Yes, he's been pretty good so far
But he's consistently been the outlier pollster this season. My subjective sense is that his predictions have either been amazingly accurate or amazingly INaccurate.

Tonight should be interesting, to say the least. But maybe not even as interesting as the next few weeks!

7. Zogby had Obama up by 13 on the day of the NH primary. I notice you have no link. Here:
MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (Reuters) - Democrat Barack Obama expanded his lead over Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire to 13 points as voting began in the state's critical presidential primary, according to a Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll released on Tuesday...

8. Too bad Yossariant-you lose

Also, http://www.zogby.com/news for all of his primary results so far

Item 4 about his NH polling.

My polling showed Clinton doing well on the late Sunday night and all day Monday – she was in a 2-point race in that portion of the polling. But since our methods call for a three-day rolling average, we had to legitimately factor the huge Obama numbers on Friday and Saturday – thus his 12 point average lead. Unfortunately, one day or a day–and–a–half does not make a trend and we ran out of time.

9. In theory you both have a point, but in practice, this is a...
... landslide in the making for Obama in California.
