Edited on Mon Feb-04-08 11:56 AM by truebrit71
..is that right?

...how does her bursting into tears anytime the going gets rough, NOT play into the rethugs talking points about "emotional women" not being suitable for the job?

The general public might have bought it the first time...but not a second time...

Hillary is done.

..I can see the campaign commericals now..."If we get attacked again by terrorists will HRC break down in tears? When it comes to giving tough military orders that may cause collateral damage will the desk in the Oval Office be awash in her tears? Do you want someone that is TOUGH enough to make the TOUGH decisions? Do you want someone in charge of the military that DOESN'T get emotional at the drop of a hat? Vote for ******, a vote for TOUGH leadership"...

Sort of writes itself really doesn't it?

Oh, and btw, poster "IGNORED" can go fuck themselves too...

26. what subject?
adultery? mccains' adultery or bill clinton's adultery?

why the fuck do we want to make it easy on hypocrites like my parents, who hate hillary clinton BECAUSE her husband was unfaithful & she stuck by him, "just to be president"? there's a big difference between adulterer & adulteree.

if hillary gets the nomination, making sure america knows that mccain is an adulterer, and his 18-year younger trophy wife is an heiress with a history of drug addiction seems like common sense. it is most certainly what the GOP would do in this case. why, mccain is a combination of bill clinton (adulterer) & john kerry (married wealth) in this regard.

54. disagree. mccain's pecadilloes are very relevant
reagan democrats like my parents held clinton's infidelity against al gore. i believe that it contributed, along with nader, to the margin by which the SC stole the election.

if hillary secures the nomination, they will vote for mccain unless he can be taken down a peg or 12. he needs to be slimed.

13. Not the feminism I came to revere in the 70's
Edited on Mon Feb-04-08 12:14 PM by Tom Rinaldo
It held that men and women needed to be free to experience the full range of human nature. Women could be warriors and men could be nurturing. Women coud be hard and men could be soft. Feminisn was never about women gaining equality by mastering how to be men. It wasn't about teaching women to be warriors who were hard, nor was it about molding men into soft nurturers. Men were broken by sexism. Women were broken by sexism. We no longer were to live with half our potential selves cloaked and dishonored. That was liberation.

I guess we remember a different feminism.

I'm certain we disagree, and I too have neither the inclination nor time to dispute that very basic point.

Obama's campaign thus far has been whining in reaction to anything Hillary says or does.

Hillary takes it on the chin and has done so 15+ years, but Obama seems to have a glass jaw.

Hillary doesn't tear up because she is weak. She tears up because she is losing public support and just happens to find a way to almost cry the day before an election seems to be slipping away from her. I hate it when supposedly strong women fall back on this crap. :nopity:

74. I've never ignored anyone.
I assumed if I wanted to, there'd be a list I control to which I would add the person I'd like to ignore. So if I want to ignore someone, I actually add myself to their ignore list? Seems backward.

76. I support Obama BUT her crying seemed like a very
human response to her old mentor's praise.

79. This is calculated and obvious and I lost respect for her.
The first time I was willing to say it was genuine and spontaneous. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. But, regardless, she saw a bump in popularity from it so here, the day before Super Tuesday, she brings it out again. Shameful - not for crying but for being so unmistakably manipulative.

80. She got emotional, and teared up. I did not see any crying.

MEN get emotional regularly as well, it's human.
