Canada's health care system
It's much more similar to ours than I had realized:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_care_in_Canada

When I had always heard about it, I had just assumed it was purely government run. Would you rather Canada's system, Clinton's, or Obama's?

edit: I use the word 'ours' very loosely.

In the US, healthcare belongs to the insurance companies.
In Canada, it belongs to the public.

4. Canada's system
I don't know where people get this idea about Canadian healthcare being run by the government. Too much propaganda going around I guess. They have private doctors and hospitals just as in the US. They also have a single-payer system that takes the place of private health insurance. It is paid by the government, not run by the government. Just as a private insurance company would pay for care, it doesn't provide it.

5. I have a foot-tall stack of EOBs and medical bills from the past four years
(not exaggerating on that at all) so yes, I'll take Canada's system any day.

7. I have two close friends from CA that moved to
canada when they were 18, we all are 51 now so quite some time. Both have had two kids, one husband had lung operation. Last summer I went to visit one of them and asked about it. She said she wished her family in CA had it. She felt sorry for her sisters who couldn't afford what she has. She said that everything is covered including drugs by her job and the government. That taxes are high but it was worth it.

She lives in Sydney, BC

8. Thank you for researching it for yourself
Most people hear "universal health care" and don't even bother to find out what it's about.

HR 676 would give us a system that is very similar to Canada's and a hell of a lot cheaper than our current system. It is head and shoulders above the systems proposed by Clinton or Obama.
