Anyone catch this----over $1 million raised in 17 hours?

I have Inside Politics and I wasn't listening closely. I think they reported that Kerry has raised over $1 million in the past 17 hours. I'll edit when I find a link.

But sometimes, when you aren't going to contribute a positive statement to a positive thread, it is best not to contribute anything at all. What is your motivation for making that statement? Are you hoping that suddenly all money to Kerry evaporates?

I, too, will not be contributing to Kerry, but will be contributing to other organizations that will help defeat Bush. I hope you do the same. We are in the same fight. We don't have to fight it the same way, but Kerry is not the enemy.

But remember:

Shrub outspent Gore by $60 mil in 2000, and he STILL only won on a technicality.

Money is nice, but it is not the be-all end-all of a successful campaign. If it were, Steve Forbes would have been president, and Michael Huffington would have been a congressman from California.

If we wage a Shrub-style campaign, we'll lose-- nobody does dirty campaigns like the Bush Jihad.

BUT, if we focus on issues, excite our base supporters, and GET THEM OUT TO VOTE, we'll win.

Money can help, but it can't do it alone.
