AP report makes it clear: it was Hillary who clearly disrespected Obama by reaching across Obama
to shake Kennedy's hand. Obama then turned away from her and allowed her to converse with Kennedy without forcing a handshake out of her. The pictures clearly show Obama between Hillary and Kennedy. Hillary crossed the aisle and reached out to Kennedy, obviously reaching across Obama (rude, rude, rude).

<snip>

Clinton, clad in scarlet, crossed the aisle between their seats on the House floor and reached out a hand to greet Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, the Democratic icon whose endorsement she had courted only to lose it to Obama.

Kennedy shook her hand while Obama, wearing a dark suit and standing between the two, turned away.

And there it is. She was the one being rude and the Hillary supporters will never admit it.

3. He turned away
was she supposed to just leave her hand hanging in mid-air waiting for His Majesty to deign her with his hand?

7. Her hand wasn't hanging in mid-air. She was still shaking Kennedy's hand.

12. Read the article. She "reached out a hand to greet Sen. Edward M. Kennedy."
Only Hillary supporters would be so desperate as to use their own reading comprehension problems to attack Obama.

14. She was shaking Kennedys hand
exactly as the AP article says. She walked over to shake Kennedy's hand. She walked right past him. He then turned away. The picture and the article are clear.

27. The AP journalist does
As does common sense in viewing the picture. She walked over to shake hands and if she intended to shake Obama's she would have went to him first. She didn't.

29. "reached out a hand to greet Senator Kennedy"
It really can't be any clearer. She is reaching past and over everybody else to shake Kennedy's hand.

21. No link other than a DU discussion. First, Keith wasn't there; did he interview the photographer?
And one DU poster reporting on what Keith says doesn't substantiate anything.

24. I agree, but the Clinton supporters are using it to build up a real good hate for Obama. I couldn't
give a shit about what happened, even if there is video showing Hillary at fault. Just trying to stop the manufactured outrage.

20. "Clad in scarlet"
When the HELL are we going to move beyond reporting what women wear?

Adding that Obama was wearing a dark suit does not erase the sexism in that sort of journalism. Every man there was wearing a dark suit, ffs, same as they did at the SOTU before this, and the one before that and the one before that.

I don't care who shook whose hand, who reached across whose body, who turned away, or whose drapes their outfits matched.

I want to know who is going to stop the Iraq occupation.
