Kucinich's former national campaign manager Vin Gopal today announced that he is endorsing Obama
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 09:56 PM by ProSense
Congressman Dennis Kucinich's former national campaign manager and New Jersey native Vin Gopal today announced that he is endorsing Barack Obama noting that "both Kucinich and Obama opposed the war in Iraq from the start....New Jersey progressives need to unite behind a candidate who is right on the issues when it counts."

… Obama also picked up the support of Kucinich for President New Jersey State Co-Coordinator April Kuzas, Kucinich for President Hudson County Coordinator and New Jersey Iraqi Veterans for Peace President Michael Embrich, and over 2 dozen local, county and regional Kucinich for President organizers, activists and coordinators. "As a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, I know the importance of candidates being right the first time. Senator Obama was the only other candidate besides Congressman Kucinich who spoke out in opposition to lead up of the war in Iraq," said Embrich.

9. These are Kucinich supporters, NOT Kucinich.
BTW, from my phonebanking, Kucinich supporters are going about 2/3 for Edwards.

3. This is what confuses me about Kucinich
If he truly is anti-imperial as he claims to be why does he (a) remain in a party that 100% supports the US empire and (b) endorse people who are absolutely pro US economic vandalism?

Does he have to endorse someone?

5. Obama was opposed to the War in Iraq...for Kucinich it's a matter of principl...
and that's what he's about... Why he doesn't see the funding Obama got from the Corporatists is the same as Hillary...I don't know...but he doesn't like Edwards or Hillary.

So...it's what it is. Doesn't mean his supporters have to follow his NJ Campaign manager, though.

7. not for the reasons Dennis was though
Obama has absolutely no issue with using force to defend the US economy, or at least if he does nothing he says or does suggest that.

The issue isn't and never was Iraq, it was the use of military force to protect US interests and Obama is 100% on board with that.

6. Kick. Thank goodness someone is addressing the issues.
If you opposed the war, it only makes sense to support Obama.

8. not if you oppose the war for anti-imperial reasons
Obama has not once enunciated the truth of this war, that it is being waged in order to prop up the US economy and ensure the continuing trading of Iraqi oil in $US

Obama has spoken of the possible need to attack Iran, why? because they have a nuke program? So why has Obama not spoken of attacking France or China or Pakistan?

The war drum beating about Iran is no different to the beatings proceeding any imperial adventure.

If Obama had been President do you really believe he would have let the US economy tank? If not how do you think he would have prevented Iraqi oil sales converting to the Euro?
