Well, after rumors of Ron Paul and a few close brushes with Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee, I can now confirm Democratic Presidential Candidate John Edwards plans to make an appearance in Chattanooga Monday.
His trip here will come just days after the South Carolina primary, his native state. Edwards will be at the IBEW Local 175 on Volunteer Drive for a "special event" at 11:15am. He then heads to Nashville for another stop. The event will be free and open to the public, but the Edwards camp asks that you RSVP by going to this website.
The Edwards camp says he's mobilizing supporters and volunteers in Tennessee through One Corps, a local service arm of the Edwards campaign, which has 40 active chapters in the state. In addition to grassroots support in Tennessee, Edwards also claims to enjoy the support of more than 20,000 union members.
As for Hillary Clinton, she will be at Tennessee State University Saturday night at 9:30 Eastern/8:30 Central for a town hall meeting called "Solutions For America." It will be held in the gym in Kean Hall. She then heads to Memphis for Sunday morning worship service at Monumental Baptist Church at 11:00 am Memphis time.
