I'm going to see Senator Edwards on Monday. I can't wait!!
I had a chance to see him in 2004 when he was part of the Kerry-Edwards ticket.

I choose not to because they needed some volunteers to keep the local K-E office running.

Then in 2006, he attended the labor day picnic here.

I didn't get a chance to go because of work.

But on Monday, Senator John Edwards is coming to speak here in Springfield, Missouri.

And I'm totally going.

It's an honor and privilege to see one of our fine candidates, and especially to see my favorite and the man I think should be the next President of the United States.

Wish me luck :)

I'll try not to giggle like a little school girl.

And I'm going to try and get a picture with the Senator.

4. I never thought he'd come, but Missouri is a Feb 5th state and my area would be a good area for him.
I think he'd have a good chance at WOWing a lot of voters in my part of the state.

2. I saw him in '04
in Tallahassee. There were close to 10,000 people jammed into FAMU's main quad. I was lucky enough to be in the front row since I worked on the campaign in Tallahassee and got to shake his hand. I was wearing a shirt that had pics of HW and W Bush and said "Dumb and Dumber". While he didn't comment he did look at the shirt and gave a little chuckle.

13. Your hard work is paying off, flyarm.
I've been seeing a LOT of comments on SC message boards the past few days about the on-the-ground Edwards folks in South Carolina. Comment after comment...people are saying that the Edwards folks are everywhere and that they are making a difference. They say the callers and canvassers are well informed and enthusiastic. A few weeks ago, no one was even mentioning Edwards on these forums. Yesterday, I saw a thread go 4 pages with people talking about Edwards. One lady said she was so excited because she felt like part of a grassroots movement. Honestly, I could go on and on about the nice things that are being said about you all. (Or I should say y'all) People are changing their minds because of what you are doing. People are making up their minds because of what you are doing. Republicans! are even saying these things and the ones that didn't vote last week are saying they are going to vote tomorrow for John! Thank you Thank you Thank you!

8. You lucky dog! Be sure to go early.
I went to see Kerry/Edwards in 2004 in Oakland,CA and it was impossible to get in. People were lined up for more than a block.

9. Nothing like being there.
Edited on Sat Jan-26-08 12:32 AM by asdjrocky
I saw him speak first on Nov 19, and I've been 100% Edwards since. I've now seen him speak 3 times and to do that, I had to go to Iowa.

I've always said, if you see him speak in person, it's impossible to turn away from the message.

Thanks for the report.

15. Nixon was the last Presidential candidate I saw in person
He came to our NY State town. We went to the convention hall but couldn't find a seat. He walked with those two arms up and the victory symbol...ballons falling around his head.

That whole time was disruptive because of Vietnam, protests, etc. Nixon didn't seem to want to win the war just like Bush now.

Nixon went very bad after he became President. At least he gave the old Medicare and didn't remove our rights. He was a Quaker but we saw no religious agenda. It's so different with the candidates today who use God in their sentences, etc.

It will be a long time before I vote for a Republican no matter what the office.

20. I'd like to say ! ! ! !
We rarely get a democrat to come here, it's always a republican. When Bush came he filled up the civic center.

That said, If I weren't a Hillary supporter I'd vote for John just for his looks, LOL :}

24. You will be even more inspired than you are now after you hear Edwards
I saw him in Johnstown, PA in 2004 and in Pittsbugh in 2006 (he was speaking at a fundraiser for Bob Casey).

Wonderful speeches.
