18. Why not? He wanted to fight and Kerry didn't.
Since Kerry was the candidate for Prez, John didn't have as much say in the matter.

24. Mostly just the perception of having a "loser" the ticket.... but Edwards did not
play the traditional role of attack dog well... and being chummy with Cheney at the debates was not cool.

5. For the blue team, I think it will be
(if Obama), then (Napolitano or Daschle). I'd prefer Cleland.

(if HClinton), then (Clark or Richardson). I'd prefer Chris Van Hollen.

(if Edwards), then (Harkin or Richardson). I'd prefer Feingold or Boxer.

29. I was never comfortable with Daschle when he was in Reid's
place. We need someone less wishy/washy I really like your other choices for VP.

30. Hi, bellasgrams. I wasn't endorsing Daschle, just indicating that I think
he would be extremely likely to be on Sen. Obama's short list.

If you watch over recent weeks, Daschle's pro-Obama profile is looming larger.

6. Obama/Biden sounds right to me. I think he needs somebody with that kind of experience
with him. I honestly think that Clinton would need Obama more than he would need her. So if Hillary is nominated I think it would be Clinton/Obama. Edwards/Obama if it's Edwards.

8. Biden has made it clear he's not interested.
It wouldn't make any sense to have someone so much more qualified as the vice-president and someone with so little experience in the top slot. Had the Democrats showed some intelligence they would have nominated Biden; he probably would have chosen Obama to be his running mate; they would certainly have won; Obama could learn from the best there is in Washington and get the experience he now is so lacking in; and we'd have a Democrat in the White House for the next 16 years. But instead the Democrats have blown it big time and the world and our country will suffer dearly. I'm so fucking disgusted.

You ain't the only one.
Honestly, I wish Edwards had dropped out earlier and Biden had stayed in. I think people would've been giving him a second look right about now, when everyone else sounds like children, and he seems like the only adult in the room.

Biden/Obama would've been a great ticket, too. And Gore/Obama would've been outstanding, if Gore had had the guts to jump in. Obama and Gore are very complementary figures, and I think the election would've been theirs in a walk. Either way, I think we would've had that 16 years of good government you mention. What a loss!

36. Sorry but the person with the most seniority isn't entitled to the presidency...
Nor does he/she necessarily make the best President.

Joe Biden is great at his current job. That doesn't convince me that he would make a good President.

17. Upthread, I forgot to include the Pukes.
Romney has the bucks but he's robotic and perhaps too odd to be their nominee.

McCain has more support but his positions run counter to national issues polling.

Giuliani is about to finish third or maybe fourth in Florida. He's looking like a corpse.

And by spring or so, Huckabee will likely have been rounded up and institutionalized. The man's unstable, not to mention spectacularly under-qualified for high office.

If McCain wins their nom, he'll choose Tim Pawlenty.

If Romney wins, he'll choose Haley Barbour.

19. Clinton/Bayh Romney/Boehner
In October I predicted Clinton/Bayh,Guiliani/Boehner. I'm sticking to my prediction except that now it looks like Rudy is toast. Whoever the Repub Veep nominee is, I think it will be a relatively obscure neocon from the House ala Dan Quayle.

20. Clinton/Obama versus McCain/Lieberman
I can really see Lieberman doing that. Also, McCain owes him big time. When Holy Joe went up to campaign for him in NH was when he turned around. It gave him a certain momentum.

Edited on Thu Jan-24-08 11:47 PM by Kucinich4America
I was going to go with Edwards-Obama, but two senators on the ticket really doesn't make sense, especially if a governor is on the 'Puke side. Richardson is a reasonable choice from among this year's candidates, though Howard Dean would be more to my liking.

26. The Edwards/Obama ticket makes the best case demographically...
Edited on Thu Jan-24-08 11:48 PM by Blackhatjack
However, there has been a virtual blackout of possible VP running mates for Edwards.

I suspect that Edwards might be considering someone outside of Washington for the VP slot.

35. check this out
its gonna be Clinton/Edwards, Clinton/Richardson, Obama/Dodd, Obama/Biden
or
Romney/Huckabee, Romney/Thompson, McCain/Romney, McCain/Thompson

Thompson will find his way back onto a ticket, he was the only real conservative on the GOP side this campaign anyway. In respect to Clinton/Obama, i think that would be too hard for your average American to swallow. A feminist liberal woman AND a black man named Barack Hussein Obama. Tho I like them both singly. Hillary will NEVER be on the bottom because Billary knows that Number One Observatory Circle is beneath them, and I really think it is a demotion.
