Edwards is surging in S.C. folks
Great news for those of us who want to see the Clinton coronation bandwagon stopped. The board has discussed the Zogby poll out today endlessly but two new polls out from Clemson and from SUSA show Edwards within striking distance of HRC if he continues to close strong. I've posted the entire RCP average but pay particular attention to SUSA and Clemson just released.

Election 2008 South Carolina
South Carolina Democratic Primary
Saturday, January 26 | Delegates at Stake: 45
Poll Date Sample Obama Clinton Edwards Spread
RCP Average 01/14 to 01/23 - 39.2 27.2 16.8 Obama +12.0
SurveyUSA 01/22 - 01/23 685 LV 45 29 22 Obama +16.0
Reuters/CSpan/Zogby 01/21 - 01/23 811 LV 39 24 19 Obama +15.0
Clemson 01/15 - 01/23 LV 27 20 17 Obama +7.0
Rasmussen 01/21 - 01/21 624 LV 43 28 17 Obama +15.0

Whoa... that post has stopping power!
You have a very, very valid point there. That would be a killer campaign slogan... but Edwards would never sink that low, though I'm sure his fellow candidates would.

Say it loud, proud, and often! But no hair pulling!!! Leave that to the Clinton and Obama supporters;)

9. The Clintons have effectively
brought up race with Obama and now thats all people think about is he's black. So that has ruined his chances. And They've been so negative towards Barack, that Black Americans are pissed and his white supporters are missed. Thats ruined her chances.

Its Edwards or President McCain.

19. Actually he did say something similar. He said
"winning a nomination doesn't mean squat if you can't win a general election." And he wasn't taking about himself.

10. Randi Rhodes said it all today to a caller.
Paraphrasing here, but she said that Edwards running as a champion of the poor, the working class and middle class, if he governs that way, will bring 95% employment, lower crime and he can end the wars in a timely manner. I believe so too.

12. This is great news. Maybe SC voters watched JE on David Letterman
and that precious moment when they messed up each other's hair .. lol.

This nation needs John Edwards to be next President, for so many reasons.

Go Johnny Go!! :bounce: :bounce:

20. Happy but sad, I regret the Clinton smear of Obama
I feel that it did impact his campaign, I would be delighted to see Hill and Bill retire from public office
and let the country heal, we deserve it.

But I have always been a huge Edwards fan, I remember his
Hope is On the Way speech in 2004, I felt it was the most effective speech that I have ever heard.

29. The Clemson poll goes back to the 15th. Based on that it looks to me that it is Obama who is
surging if anyone is - it is actually kind of hard to tell looking at different polls covering different periods of time - the best way to see if anyone is "surging" is to follow several polls over time and see if they are all moving in the same direction...
