Why do the media annointed top two Dems seem hell-bent on

tearing the party apart?

Lots of folks are complaining about posts on DU by their supporters, but after reading several news items, it seems to me the candidates and their official representatives, are causing much of this/doing significantly more damage by their innuendo/exaggeration and sniping/whining/spinning.

This SHOULD be the year we can elect a President who can make the American Dream possible again for hard working Americans, who can restore our dignity and honor in the world, who can restore our civil liberties, justice, and accountability in government. But, instead, this is beginning to look like a middle school pissing contest between two candidates unable or unwilling to put their egos aside for the greater good.

Accusations about voter intimidation, ballot box tampering, racial prejudice/racism, sexism, caucus manipulation, and on and on.

The insults hurled from both sides are not ingratiating either candidate to anyone - Dem or Ind.

11. It seems ever since Jimmy Carter, who

in my opinion, tried to bring back the kind of populist ideas, integrity, accountability, and justice that Robert Kennedy stood for, but was undermined by greed/self interests and political operatives who were much more sophisticated than he was, the party has never fully recovered.

Carter could not be Kennedy. Clinton was kind of Carter, kind of Reagan - better than some, but not as good as he might have been. There were lots of reasons for it -- but, now, for our principles and the future of the country to be threatened by media created and candidate reinforced BS is unacceptable.

I'm an Edwards supporter who wished Gore had run. And, I become more concerned with each passing day what the future holds, for myself and my hubby, as well as our children, and the country's/world's children -- because it appears to me, none of these politicians TRULY appreciates how important this election is not only to our country (the PEOPLE of the country), but to the world (the PEOPLE of the world).

It isn't helping the party at all, but their "ego" trip is to win at all costs, and to hell with everything else!

Another thing is they don't have to really talk about the issues, they can just attack each other and hope nobody notices they don't really have any kind of a "plan" to make the changes this country really needs.

We do have one candidate that wants to change this country, and who has a "real" plan to do so. Sadly he gets rejected by the media in favor of the Obama Clinton wars! If the people hear Edwwards and his message they will see that he is the one we need in D.C.! Clinton and Obama can fight till they are blue in the face, they still won't have a real plan to change things!:spank:
