1. Same victory speech from Iowa - even after the NH loss. Time to write another
I was listening to the Huckster congratulating McCain - thinking: "can't believe the fundie is more gracious than our own candidate". Embarrasing.

It's all about perception and viability.

15. Isn't that attitude what's gotten us in all this trouble in America?

5. I know this might come as a shock
but Lee Mercer, Jr. has also declared victory (just now coming down the pipeline) .... for the AVERAGE AMERICAN! Tonight scores of people went to caucus for Lee Mercer, Jr. and their voice was heard amid the din of corporate, government-subsidized "McCandidates"!

6. The Clinton's will be real losers in my eyes if what I have been reading about their dirty tricks
and Bill Clinton's intimidation is true. McAwfull was there too.

9. Is it dirty tricks this time?
Let's see, in NH it was racism and election fraud. What will be the next accusation when Obama doesn't win?

7. I think Obama is acting the way Bush did in 2000 when Bush
lost the popular vote to Gore. Obama's attitude now makes me suspicious of how he would govern if he is the President.

10. other: smart campaigning
Why wouldn't a candidate try to spin results as favorably as possible? It's the same reason that Clinton's people kept saying that Obama started with a five point lead because of the culinary union endorsement, even though Clinton was always ahead in the polls. It's spin, but it is normal and expected.

I've been at DU for almost 7 years now, so I'm no longer surprised when people are shocked and dismayed when our candidates and elected officials actually engage in politics. But I still don't understand it. I want a candidate who acts ethically, but I also want one who can win the general election.

11. I voted for option three.. but suppose the tables were turned, WWHRCD?
What would Hillary have done? Conceeded with more delegates? Put spin on it? Absolutely.

These two are playing the same game - don't throw one under the bus for doing what the other surely would have done.

16. Reminds me of Bush. Absolutely nutso.
Yes, He MAY have a small, technical point.... but he got thumped by 6%..... and this is pure Rovian style politics.... definitely not a "new kind of politics"

23. hot off the press in chicago
"But a source familiar with the case confirmed that Obama is the unnamed “political candidate” referred to in a section of the document that accuses Rezko of orchestrating a scheme in which a firm hired to handle state teacher pension investments first had to pay $250,000 in “sham” finder’s fees. From that money, $10,000 was donated to Obama’s successful run for the Senate in the name of a Rezko business associate, according to the court filing and the source."

24. From the article:
"The Illinois senator isn’t accused of any wrongdoing. And there’s no evidence Obama knew contributions to his 2004 U.S. Senate campaign came from schemes Rezko is accused of orchestrating"

22. Remember the "comeback kid" speech from Bill
He lost N.H. by 8% after being ahead in all the polls, he then declares victory and crowns himself the "comeback kid".

If you have problems with Obama presenting a delegate win as a win then what do you think of Bill's presentation of an unexpected loss as a victory?
