We pronouce it right.

It's a tight rope to walk however. There are so many places in California that have spanish names and people pronounce them wrong. Like San Pedro ... a 'berb of Los Angeles. People call it "San Peedro" but you won't not call a man name Pedro "Peedro" you call him "Ped-ro".

Many Californians screw up and call San Luis Obispo .. "San Louie Obispo".
