Obama Lies to Nevada Debate Audience (can't be Trusted to be Truthful w/public)
Obama blocked own 'top Senate achievement'

By: Kenneth P. Vogel

Jan 16, 2008

LAS VEGAS — Barack Obama boasted at Tuesday's Democratic presidential debate that, thanks to his work in the Senate, the public can find out which special interest lobbyists are raising money for candidates.

In fact, the public cannot — also as a result of Obama's work in the Senate.

He led a partisan confirmation battle that crippled the agency charged with implementing the new law requiring candidates to disclose lobbyists who collect big checks for candidates — a process known as “bundling.”

67. You know something Hillary Bait? This smear campaign harms Hillary. The facts don't check out.
Of course, you do have do download the law and read the thing, but I did and here it is.

The section on bundling is section # 204.

http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=110_cong_public_laws&docid=f:publ081.110.pdf

The bundling disclosure act is designed to reveal who bundlers are, and it forces them to put
the information online. There's no lie from Obama here.

But you probably knew that, didn't you?

Well, maybe that's not fair. Maybe you just didn't check your sources.

2. Obama blocks nominee accused of diluting minority voting power

from the article cited:

-snip-

Obama was among the leading proponents of a provision requiring disclosure to the FEC of contributions bundled by lobbyists to congressional and presidential candidates. And the provision was included in the "Honest Leadership and Open Government Act," which President Bush signed into law in September.

But the commission lacks the votes necessary to take any official actions, including implementing — let alone enforcing — the law, rendering it effectively moot. That’s because Senate Democrats, led by Obama, blocked the confirmation of four nominees to the six-seat agency, leaving it without a quorum.

Obama and Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) technically put a hold on the Senate confirmation of only one nominee: Hans von Spakovsky. He has been accused of diluting minority voting power during an earlier stint as a Justice Department lawyer.

-snip-

Politico makes it sound nefarious, but the reason it's held up is because the FEC doesn't have a quorum because Obama is blocking the appointment of a bad guy.

1. Hillary supporters have routinely objected to citing Politico - why is it OK for Obama stories?

2. Why won't Hillary block someone accused of diluting minority vote? For answer, see Nevada.

3. In psychology, psychological projection (or projection bias) is a defense mechanism in which one attributes to others one’s own unacceptable or unwanted thoughts or/and emotions. Projection reduces anxiety by allowing the expression of the unwanted subconscious impulses/desires without letting the ego recognize them. The theory was developed by Sigmund Freud and further refined by his daughter Anna Freud, and for this reason, it is sometimes referred to as "Freudian Projection"

"I guess the Obamarama fans don't want to spoil the party by thinking Chicago Barry is just another, ahem, ethically challenged politician. If you don't like a story, just shoot the messenger or accuse him of bias. Besides, Obama didn't worry too much about getting cozy with lobbyists during his time in the Illinois legislature. Can you say "Tony Rezko"? Oops . . . so much for "change" and "hope".

"Come on media. Can't you just give the information without dramatizing it or insinuating that something is contradictory. There is nothing in contradiction about creating this new opportunity for transparency and then fighting to ensure it is not corrupted by Bush/Republican appointees known to be in favor of the opposite interests of their positions and who are also veiled in secrecy. You do a disservice to the readers of these blogs, who are at least a little savy in politics to know better. Cut the crap on the misleading headlines. Enough!"

10. That's not the real story in the details....
I hope you read the whole story....cause here's more ......

The derailing of von Spakovsky bolstered Obama’s civil rights bona fides. It pleased Democratic and black activists, because it dovetailed with their concerns about politicization of the Justice Department under President Bush.

54. It's really shouldn't be too difficult for you to understand, sister..
If Obama had mentioned his efforts of putting forth a "transparency" of Ethics Bill had failed when speaking about it at the debate rather than taking credit for getting a Bill passed that for all intents and purposes is useless and accomplishes nothing...I might or might not mention it...

The fact remains, he had the choice of telling the Truth and advising the audience of the current situation that his "Ethics Reform Bill" has failed to get the job done...Instead, he chose hiding the Truth from the public and led them to believe his "Ethics Reform Bill" is an indication of the "CHANGE" he intends making for open transparency in government.

Obama deliberately misled the Nevada viewing audience and the American People into believing his "Ethic's Bill" is working and part of his plan to fix a broken corrupt system. (Isn't "Ethic's Reform" a centerpiece of his campaign?) (Doesn't he mention he's responsible for passing an Ethics Reform Bill at every whistle stop he visits and continues to mislead people?)

Not very ethical of Obama not to make public his Bill has failed to make "change" a reality in Ethics Reform.

You are not demeaning fidelity now, are you? I hope not.

Breaking someone's heart and betraying them and making a fool out of the woman who carried his child was about as low as it gets. It's forgivable, but before one throws stones about "truth", you might want to check out the glass house you are living in.

Being faithful to your mate is a big deal with me. I'm with my companion for 34 years. It didn't happen with us cheating on each other.

That is not a "fundie" value. It's the value of love.
