Poll question: Obama Supporters -- Do You Want Him To Go Negative On Hillary?
Do you think the best strategy would be to go negative, or stay positive as we head towards Super Tuesday?

5. I hate to sound like a broken record, but...
"He who fights monsters should take care that he does not himself become a monster" etc. etc., Nietzsche.

We're running on a message of hope, optimism, and a new kind of politics free of the vicious political backstabbing of the past. Placing close second in a tiny state with 48 states left to go should not be enough to make us abandon those principles.

If we do, if we run a campaign like Senator Clinton's because "it worked for her," then we really don't represent anything better than what she has to offer, and we don't deserve to win.

2. Push poll. "Stay" positive?
How long ago was that NYT story where he announced he was going negative? :eyes:

I'm disgusted with Edwards' treatment of Hillary ~ and would guess that he lost some votes last night because of his behavior since Iowa.

I might've even voted for Hillary in NH ~ just to say "fuck you" to the media, etc.

8. there's a strong indication that quite a number of Edwards votes did just that at the last minute.

18. Which only proves that those people have no business choosing a President...
:spank:

It's the same way the Republicans have managed to triumph again and again. "I'm going to vote against my own best interests, just to send a message that I feel sympathy for an 'ordinary joe' as opposed to all these Ivy League Liberal Elitists."

Sad to see it works among us, too.

6. I have nothing wrong with him pointing out their differences in record, etc.
But I think he's done a fine job of rising above the sewer where they dwell. Like after Bill's comments. I think Obama's response about his frustration was the perfect response.

7. absolutely stay positive- he has set himself apart from everyone
in this race without smearing others.

He will win by staying focused on his plans for our future- meeting the attacks with facts, but not going on the offense.

:hi:
He's the one.

11. No. It will kill him with voters if he does. His optimism is his calling card.
Obama is change.

Obama is fresh and new.

Obama is a cultural leap forward.

Obama is the future.

Obama is America at its best.

16. Neither -- he needs to draw strong distinctions between his record and policies with HRC...
...but do it in a way that won't come across as attacking her personally, or sounding preoccupied with being negative. More like emphasizing forcefully the positive aspects of his plans, while making it clear that her proposals lack such an idealistic basis.

Sorry, I was sneaky. I believe it helps Hillary for him to go negative. I'll go to bed without my supper, honest.

21. That's not his thing.
I would expect him to sharpen the detail of their differences without getting ugly. It's worked for him so far.
