1. Yes, it's completely true. Absolutely. 100% genuine bonafide truth.
And in the same parallel universe, John Edwards is an ambulance-chasing lowlife.

13. Edwards? Is he the Muslim, the guy who gets $400 haircuts every day, or the lesbian?
I can't keep this shit straight.

20. Well, if that's the case, the Freepers and Fundies will be voting for him.
We hit the trinity with him!

2. I found this.
Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 02:15 PM by AndyA
...the audience was riveted as Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, the guest speaker at the $175-a-plate dinner, stood on the podium and began the customary round
of recognition of candidates and incumbents in the room. When he got to Mr. Lieberman, who is his mentor in the Senate and who helped recruit him to speak at the event, the applause again was muted.

"I know that some in the party have differences with Joe," Senator Obama said, all but silencing the crowd. "I'm going to go ahead and say it. It's the elephant in the room. And Joe and I don't agree on everything. But what I know is, Joe Lieberman's a man with a good heart, with a keen intellect, who cares about the working families of America."

Then, with applause beginning to build, he finished the thought: "I am absolutely certain that Connecticut's going to have the good sense to send Joe Lieberman back to the United States Senate."

Yes, that's just the type of person we want in the White House. Someone who thinks Joe DINO Lieberman is just wonderful. Yet another reason to not vote for Obama. :eyes:

Edit to add: I guess it is true.

3. Obama endorsed Lamont.
Lieberman's "mentorship" was just a technicality between junior and senior senators.

6. More expedient bipartisanship.
I want my president to be clear about what party he belongs to. When you "reach across the aisle" you end up with Lieberman. :puke:

7. But Obama never came to CT to stump for Lamont against Lieberman
Obama had book signings in NY and Massachusetts but he never made the time to visit CT to help Lamont on the campaign trail against his old mentor.

8. It sure doesn't sound like Obama endorsed Lamont:

If that isn't an endorsement, I don't know what is.

He endorsed Lamont later.

Am I going to have to look it up for you?

14. Lieberman was still his first choice.
And look at Lieberman's history prior to this endorsement. Once a DINO, always a DINO. It still shows flawed judgement, does it not?

Obama supported Lamont after the August 2006 Democratic primary. But it does make me wonder about his judgement and ability to lead a progressive agenda. (If you guys can complain about Edwards past mistakes, Obama is fair game as they say...)

Yep. All freshman Senators are assigned a mentor
Lieberman was assigned to Obama. What do you think Obama should have done? I'd be fascinated to hear what you think.

4. Yes. Lieberman was assigned to Obama as his mentor
Obama didn't choose him.

Unfortunately, Obama's bi-partisan rhetoric is right our of Lieberman's playbook. That's another reason why I am cynical about Obama.
