If our candidate is not knowledgeable of foreign policy
we are going to lose. Especially against McCain.

We do not need a terrorist attack; but some instability in any part of the world and if our candidate is Obama, we will lose.

For months we've heard how the Republicans will have their job cut for them if Clinton is the nominee. I think that the same holds for Obama. And, in contrast to Clinton, this will be new experience for him. Yes, his drug use, his Muslim childhood, even his full name.

In 1992 Harkin used to refer to papa Bush in his full four names, to show his upper class background. We can be sure that Karl Rove and company will be using Obama's full name and let the voters draw their own conclusions.

He probably will win Iowa. In 1988 Jesse Jackson did pretty well there, too. But if he is our candidate, I hope that he is well prepared to deal with whatever is thrown against him. So far every one was pretty nice toward him but the Republicans will be brutal and we've seen how ill prepared Kerry was for the Swift Boaters.

2. I'm hoping we've learned a lesson from the Swift Boaters -- that if that happens
this time around, we'll be better prepared to deal with it. And hopefully, have something similar up our sleeves - to fight fire with fire.

3. Dems using the Fear card against other Dems. Nice!
Pretty ironic that in the latest Zogby matchup poll, Barack was the only Dem to beat McCain.

4. McCain doesn't have a foreign policy footing.

His statements about the safety of the streets in Iraq will take care of that. The Republicans can all talk about foreign policy experience, but if they do, hopefully the Democratic candidates will call them on it. As the Republicans have been in office for years, why did their foreign policy experience not help them keep us from bombing countries that did nothing to us, etc.

I'm not worried about the foreign policy stances. I'm worried about what issues the media tries to use to frame the debate. If they only promote war, violence, family issues, religion and such, it will leave out the breadth of other issues that need to be considered as well.

I still believe that immigration is only an issue because it's the only issue that all of the Republicans can get really frothy about. Democrats understand the importance of the issue, but know there are about 50 things in front of it that are more important and relevant to 2008. If the media tells us that immigration is the key issue, we'll see where we end up.

7. McCain isn't going to win anything. They'll stick the "entitlements"
issue up his or any other republicans ass. Foreign policy means nothing if those bastards take away the checks.

10. Will be real ugly once Rove takes a bite
When are we going to learn that being nice during the primaries will make it that much harder for the candidate and his/her campaign to deal with the sharp teeth of the Republicans?

Both Clinton and Edwards have had their shares of attacks by Democrats. Why spare Obama?
