I've finally made my decision - its Edwards
He can win

He runs a good campaign

He's speaking honestly about the issues

He's the only one with a realistic health care reform agenda and he's actually committed to it, not just saying things to appease voters

He's intelligent, experienced and willing to be strong and fight - something that any Dem elected to the WH is going to need in spades.

It will take someone with a good grasp of the issues, the ability to develop a strategy, assemble a team and have the strength and perseverance to take over the WH and focus on what is best for the country's future. It will probably be one of the most difficult and dangerous WH transitions in recent history, probably the most dangerous and challenging since Lincoln took over during the Civil War.

John Edwards is the only candidate I see who can do all of these things.

1. Good choice
I'm voting for Biden, but if he has dropped out before my primary, I'm joining you in voting for JRE.

9. Thanks
I've been leaning towards him for some time, but wanted to give the other candidates full review. I think some of the others may be electable, but I'm not sure I can trust them to follow up on what they say.

We have to get this country turned around and headed in the right direction again with haste or we'll have a very frightening future ahead of us.

15. I see the "ascending" as well.. it's spreading like wildfire, not just the message, but
something intangible about Edwards, the Man. I'm still with Biden, too; however, I find myself rooting for both of them so feverishly I'm tempted to do a BiPolar sig line and insert an Edwards avatar, too :-)

and lobbyists with no hesitation. I'm also not certain that he will be willing to let Bush and Admin. get a free pass for all of there misdeeds.

I really liked the way he conducted himself in 2004 and would have preferred him as our candidate over Kerry. My only regret was that he didn't assert himself more during Kerry's campaign.

23. Not quite, not all corporations are bad
and I believe Edwards knows that as well.

Taking a black and white stand on the issue will only marginalize your effort. There are good corporations out there, many of whom want to see changes in health care reform, trade policies, etc.

Its also possible to take a strong stand against corporate wrongdoing without destroying them. Roosevelt believed government had the responsibility to regulate commerce to allow growth but protect the public interest. Its a balance.

Edited on Mon Dec-24-07 11:01 PM by Digit
I had this FEELING about him, which may sound silly to some.

Way back before 2000, when I first heard of *, I had this terrible forboding about what would happen if he became Prez. I had no idea it would get as bad as it has.

I pay attention to my intuition, and I am noticing how he is right on top of the issues that resonate with voters.

40. Sorry-
But you are so full of it. This is one of the things that bothers me. Edwards has been first on every single issue during this campaign, he follows no one. They follow him.

Minimum wage? They follow.
Heath care plan? They follow.
New Orleans? Oops, still waiting for them to see people need help there. Maybe, eventually, they'll follow him on that as well.

But then anyone politically involved would know that. Guess that leaves you out.

It is heartening to see so many coming to the same conclusion. We need a candidate who combines a steadfast committment to the issues that affect people's lives and livelihoods with the intelligence and the heart to take on not just a fight but many epic battles. I believe that the issues that will face our next President will be unprecedented. It will take a very rare individual to lead us through the difficult times to come. I truly believe that John is such an individual. We must do everything we can to see that he is elected!

Welcome to the John Edwards supporters OzarkDem! :hi:
