"Send Christmas cards to thank President Bush"
In our local newspaper:

http://www.mcall.com/news/opinion/letters/all-bowen.6189753dec20,0,3248220.story

"In the spirit of Christmas, I think the citizens of the United States should open their hearts and minds and send President Bush a Christmas card. Never before in the history of our country has a president been so maligned and the country so divided except, possibly, in Abraham Lincoln's time during the Civil War.

"In the card, we should all thank him and his administration for protecting us from those countries and organizations that would harm us.

"So, in the spirit of Christmas, which is the celebration of the birth of a child who in his adult years taught us to "love one another,'' let us unite and individually send President Bush our warm wishes and heartfelt gratitude for his strong, steadfast and faithful leadership during these troubling times."

Some of the comments are hilarious.

2. Exercising that conservative value of ignorance
I got a big old slab of liberalism hanging that the papers readers can thank.

3. the nuts and loons on there
weren't really making much sense. But it was obvious from their comments that they still consider Bush God, or a reasonable equivalent thereof. The libs' comments were right on!

4. Dear George Bush
You are a blood-thirsty power-hungry evil son of a bitch. I pray to Jesus every day that you are indicted.

By the way, Merry Christmas, fucker

5. That "civility" guy is a total whack-job.
OMG!

The comments were a riot to read. But someone needs to track him down and introduce him to a white "I love me" jacket. :P
