CNN Apologizes — Kerr Denies Coordination With Hillary Campaign
By Eric Kleefeld - November 29, 2007, 12:13PM

CNN has formally apologized for allowing Retired Big. Gen. Keith Kerr, a Hillary Clinton supporter, to appear at last night's debate and ask the Republican candidates a question about gays in the military.

"We regret this, and apologize to the Republican candidates," CNN senior vice president David Bohrman said in a statement. "We never would have used the General's question had we known that he was connected to any presidential candidate."

Kerr appeared on CNN this morning and said he did not coordinate his action with the Clinton campaign, and as not donated money to Hillary or even done any work with the campaign at all, beyond lending them his name:

10. As long as she does something underhanded to THEM it doesn't bother you.
"I'm very impressed that she would be able to pull off such a feat. '

You'll not be so impressed when she does it to you.

You think that won't happen?

If so, you're blinded by something. I'll let you decide what that might be.

22. If "she" was underhanded and planted a question
she would have used an unknown person. What's wrong with the question? It's reasonable, not confrontational.

16. Absolutely
This president, especially, has been president of the Republican party. He is not able to understand that when he was elected he was suppose to shift gears (too cumbersome for some people) and become the president of all of the people.
Half (or more) of the people in the United States have been disenfranchized during the years of this Bush administration.
It has been obvious that he does not believe in democracy as a practice.

7. Don't stop there, CNN
While you're at it, why don't you apologize to the American People for promoting Bush's lies for the past 7 years?

This is a lame effort to make it look like Hillary had a plant at the debate (whether she or the other candidates did or not, I don't know).

8. Do no Republicans ask questions at Dem debates?
I don't get this. Aren't questions coming from the public at large?

9. Apologizes for what? That he's a Democrat?
That he's a citizen asking a question of a potential presidential nominee?

Fuck CNN for apologizing.

Do they make you sign a GOP pledge before letting you in the audience?

15. The point is how the Repugs slapped him in the face for his service
Whether he supports any other candidate or not is not the issue that should be in question. Whether he is a "Hillary plant" or not is not even relevant.

What was relevant was how the Repugs responded to his question about gays in the military. Perhaps they need to focus on what Barry Goldwater said about the issue:

"Everyone knows that gays have served honorably in the military since at least the time of Julius Caesar. They'll still be serving long after we're all dead and buried. That should not surprise anyone."

20. Exactly. Focusing on his affiliation to Hillary is a misdirection tactic
to delegitimize his message and justify the despicable reaction by the mouthbreathers in the audience.

it seems to me that is what they are trying to apologize for.
