Rudy's Ties to a Terror Sheikh
Giuliani's business contracts tie him to the man who let 9/11's mastermind escape the FBI
by Wayne Barrett
November 27th, 2007 3:39 PM
Three weeks after 9/11, when the roar of fighter jets still haunted the city's skyline, the emir of gas-rich Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifah al-Thani, toured Ground Zero. Although a member of the emir's own royal family had harbored the man who would later be identified as the mastermind of the attack—a man named Khalid Sheikh Muhammad, often referred to in intelligence circles by his initials, KSM—al-Thani rushed to New York in its aftermath, offering to make a $3 million donation, principally to the families of its victims. Rudy Giuliani, apparently unaware of what the FBI and CIA had long known about Qatari links to Al Qaeda, appeared on CNN with al-Thani that night and vouched for the emir when Larry King asked the mayor: "You are a friend of his, are you not?"

"We had a very good meeting yesterday. Very good," said Giuliani, adding that he was "very, very grateful" for al-Thani's generosity. It was no cinch, of course, that Giuliani would take the money: A week later, he famously rejected a $10 million donation from a Saudi prince who advised America that it should "adopt a more balanced stand toward the Palestinian cause." (Giuliani continues to congratulate himself for that snub on the campaign trail.) Al-Thani waited a month before expressing essentially the same feelings when he returned to New York for a meeting of the U.N. General Assembly and stressed how important it was to "distinguish" between the "phenomenon" of 9/11 and "the legitimate struggles" of the Palestinians "to get rid of the yoke of illegitimate occupation and subjugation." Al-Thani then accused Israel of "state terrorism" against the Palestinians.

6. And you know this is only the beginning
There is a lot more trash on Rudy just waiting to surface. He's made a lot of enemies in NY and he is overall a pretty shady guy.

7. That's the same thing we thought about bush
when he ran for gov & then pres... He was crooked, drunk, did cocaine, AWOL, multiple failed business attempts, an idiot, cocky and unlikeable, etc etc, so how could he possibly win any election, but Bush proved anyone can be president, as long as they get enough fixes in. After Gore then Kerry "losing" when everyone knows they won, I'm still pessimistic about the next election, so I have to hope they nominate the lesser of their evils just in case.... though I'm having a hard time figuring out which slimeball that would be.

10. Money, Sex & Sheikhs?
It's a offer too good to refuse. Why the good Sheikh even mentioned 9/11.

13. I'm not so sure that Rudy is that beatable.
In a sane world, yes. In America, maybe not. I heard a report that Texas governor Perry endorsed Rudy. Now there's a match made in hell. How bout Rudy and Perry ticket. Big Northeastern city and a western state.
Perry is pure reactionary, and Rudy carries those idiots who think he is conservative but think he has some 'liberal' positions.

look out.

14. I don't like Rudy. I want him to be the Republican nominee.
Right now people only see name recognition...Americas mayor...woo hoo. But, there is so much stuff on Rudy that I think he'd be the easiest to beat. There are big things like this story, Kerik, being pro-choice, for gun control, sanctuary city, etc. Then there are things like his affairs and divorces, the seven times that he dressed like a woman. (Not that there's anything wrong with it!) But, a video of that could do him in among the shallow repubs.

I watched the debate last night and noticed that Rudy seemed more subdued and less cocky than usual. He only mentioned 9/11 when asked a question about it. It was almost like he was avoiding mentioning it. He may know something big is coming.

15. a mob connected prez nominee would have been interesting
looking less and less likely each day.

More likely will be a bible thumping, smooth talking preacher from the south who thinks the earth is only 6000 years old. pick your poison.
