ABKers: Would you vote for the Dem ticket if Edwards were on it?
Edited on Sat Feb-21-04 06:26 PM by elperromagico
Let's say the ticket in November were Kerry/Edwards - how many of you would be more likely to vote for the Democratic ticket?

I ask out of sheer, blinding curiosity.

Edit: What potential ticket combos would make you consider voting for Kerry?

2. Yeah, sit home...
that's a sound strategy. I'd vote for another Republican if it meant Bush'd be gone. ANYONE still in the race is preferable to Bush. You don't like Kerry, fine, don't campaign, don't donate, but don't sit home. The stakes are too high.

13. Welcome to DU malachibk
I couldn't agree more with your assessment of matters. Anyone staying home really hasn't been paying attention the last 3 years, seems to me.

10. Please help me understand:
First let me say that I will not be voting FOR anyone, but I will vote against any bush, on any ticket. (read: American Dynasty)

But for the life of me I cannot understand why the negative to Kerry=bush attitude. It seems to me that Edwards and Shelton are far closer to the neo-cons than Kerry. Afterall, it is Edwards who repeats and reinforces the big lie, 911=Saddam.

Furthermore, it is Edwards who wants to cut taxes on dividends.

Edwards does have a better Ed policy, but then he also agrees with the body of NCLB. Never mind his proposal for neighborhood/TIA watch groups a la Asscroft, and his vote on trade with China.

Again, I will be voting against bush if it looks like a close call in my state. I personally think anyone who voted for the Patriot Act should have lost their seat. I mean that. While I can understand some of the thinking about IWR, although I disagree with it, to now say the war is okay is not okay.

The grassroots got nothing in these primaries, so please remind them that we are not a cash cow, we have ideas.

4. Edwards/Kerry ticket would just be two peas in a pod.
I expect better from my party.

Vote, they would probably get it unless they do something really horrible, but no canvassing, no money, no phone banks, no leafleting, no...

I would get out the vote just to help the Congressional candidate.

8. Edwards has a better chance of getting my vote than Kerry
Aside from NAFTA, there's little difference between the two but Edwards is at least more forthright.

14. A war hero yes, but FOR this war.
Edited on Sat Feb-21-04 08:22 PM by revcarol
Most of the vets I know are against this war, and the fact that he chose to make MORE disabled vets and dead soldiers does not sit well with them.

However, I will tell them that they should vote for Kerry at the next PEACE DEMONSTRATION,which takes place every Tuesday without fail, rain or shine.

And as far as Edwards goes, he still connects 9/11 and the War. He's so ignorant...then he says we did the right thing. SHEESH.

Changed my mind to undecided. Kerry no. Edwards, probably not.

11. Two senators will never get elected, period.
Doesn't matter which two, it won't happen. One senator getting elected is a long long shot. And even if I didn't find John Kerry contemptible in just about every way already, I would not look forward to hearing ridiculous comparisons to JFK for the next 4 years just because he happenned to be the last Senator who was elected.

As for voting for Edwards if he's the nominee (without Kerry on the ticket) - I'm still thinking about that one.
