Funny that two marginal candidates dominate the discussion here
Edited on Fri Nov-02-07 01:49 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
Neither Clinton nor Obama have much support here... by DU standards both are marginal, flirting with "second-tier" status.

In every straw poll the last few weeks the two of them seem to be tied at about 10%. There is more support for Edwards here than Clinton and Obama combined, and sometimes almost as much support for Kucinich as the whole "top tier" put together. And, given the intensity of the limited Obama and Clinton support, it's likely that even at 10% they are over-represented in those polls, since their dedicated supporters must be likelier to vote in a DU straw poll than the average DUer.

Current DU Support:
KUCINICH
EDWARDS
OBAMA - CLINTON - BIDEN (three way tie)

But the Clinton vs. Obama dynamic dominates the board thanks to the intensity of their supporters, and as a reflection of the national news narrative.

Just an observation about internet dynamics. No criticism of anyone for posting for Obama or Clinton, or anyone else.

2. Actually, Joe Biden was the "star" of the debate, I see a lot of talk
and discussion about him. His numbers are rising and name recognition is growing. Joe is looking at top tier very shortly after Edwards drops down....

5. I think the actblue page here shows true DU support.

You gotta admit, half the "support" some candidates get here is always from the same realitivly small group of members.
Actblue/DU shows support that's much deeper than just typing.

6. Good point, though supporters of different folks may have more or less money
And "hopeless" candidacies may attract less $$$ than their level of approval.

9. Yup. I'm not surprised at Hillary and Edwards, but am baffled at Obama's low #.
The way his supporters absolutely flood the forums here, you'd think his $ amount would be much higher.
