Al Gore Will Not Be On Michigan Primary Ballot

LANSING -- Efforts to put the name of former Vice President Al Gore on Michigan's Jan. 15 Democratic presidential primary ballot have fallen short.

Supporters needed to collect more than 12,000 valid signatures by Tuesday, but collected only around 2,000.

Gore could still get on the ballot as a write-in candidate if he files with the Michigan secretary of state's office by January 4. But his name would not appear on the regular primary ballot.
