We should really forget about same-sex unions for 2008.

Now don't get me wrong: I'm not advocating that any of our candidates drop their stance on it while campaigning (though I'm sure we'll hear from a few people who haven't even read this far who think I am). I'm just saying that we should forget about it actually happening, about getting some public policy passed that would allow it.

The reason why? We can see that the top two candidates who support these unions are somehow associated with that singer guy. Obama is going to be standing on the same stage with him, and Clinton's husband already did. What good is the legislation if it is necessary to elect politicians tainted by these ties in order to get it? I say stay home, let the Republicans win, and forget about it until 2012 at least.

Get it passed state by state when the US is distracted.
