Obama looks to Lincoln

LONDONDERRY, New Hampshire (CNN) At a picturesque New England setting, perched close to apple orchards and pumpkin patches, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, was asked by New Hampshire voters which former president he admired the most and why.

I suppose Im biased because Im from Illinois, but theres a tall skinny guy who the Washington folks didnt think had much experience, who had served in the state legislature there, and then a couple years in Congress before taking on the presidency who did pretty well. I am a great admirer of Lincoln, Obama told the group....

2. You can see how the Illinois senator can recognize certain qualities of our
state hero in himself. And they are very apt. Which is why we all stood in the cold in Springfield to watch this tall skinny guy from Illinois make his announcement. It was very appropriate to us here in Illinois. Especially the symbolism.
