The Clintons and the Bushes -- first chapter of Parry's book "Secrecy and Privilege" now online
http://consortiumnews.com/2007/100307.html

>>
The book opens with a scene early in the second year of Bill Clinton’s presidency with him explaining to White House guests why he didn’t pursue geopolitical scandals that had implicated George H.W. Bush in gross abuses of power and arguably criminal acts.

President Clinton made clear he saw historical truth as less important than his hopes for Republican cooperation on his domestic agenda. But this willingness to sweep major scandals under the rug left the White House back door ajar for a restoration of the Bush Family dynasty a half dozen years later – with disastrous consequences for the American Republic.

The relevance of this story today is that Bill Clinton’s misguided “pragmatism” seems to a characteristic of Hillary Clinton’s political persona, too, as she hedges her positions on the Iraq War and signals a willingness to support a dangerous confrontation with Iran.

3. And that's why Clinton must not be POTUS. There is ZERO evidence she'll hold crooks accountable.
And frankly, if Clinton REALLY believed the GOP would work with him because of his 'largess' in not investigating/prosecuting all the Bush scandals he is stupid.

But then, I don't think Bill Clinton is stupid. I think he was just willing to sweep all that illegal, traitorous behavior under the rug because he was willing to play along.

He and Hillary accepts the corrupt power structure and protects it.

9. thanks. The atmosphere and the whole corrupt and nasty nature of
Washington began with Nixon. From that the republicans decided to make the dems pay. But, Carter was not someone they could do much damage to as they were not that organized or strong yet and the media had not crossed over to the dark side.
During Reagan alot of the media became hard core Reagan admirers and sided more and more with the republicans. And the rise of Rush and conservative negativity.
Clinton, instead of fighting back let it make him morose and then fall in with Dick Morris and his protege, mark Penn.
clinton embraced a cave in thinking that infested the rest of the party and moved it to the right.
This is why we desperately need to break with the old and the destructive and to vote in a whole crew and president.
We see the results from the freshman class of senators. They are much more impressive than the old school has to offer anymore. They have a backbone and core beliefs.
