A couple of bloggers think Tweety may have been drinking when he was on pre-debate with KO
Edited on Thu Sep-27-07 12:02 AM by DeepModem Mom
I wasn't watching that closely. Was Tweety any different from his usual self?

ON EDIT: I happened to catch the segment on the late repeat of "Countdown." Tweety appeared to me pretty much his usual self.

1. I was watching -- that's absurd.
Exactly what was it that *supposedly* made him seem to be drunk?

4. Here's one --
First, Chris Matthews seems to have "pregamed" the pregame. If Matthews wasn't drunk during the lead-up to the debate, as he railed against Barack Obama for not attacking Hillary Clinton harder and Chris Wallace for some offense that wasn't clear, he did a pretty good imitation. Even Keith Olbermann looked bemused.

The other was just a brief reference to someone asking if he were drunk.

15. Oh. PowerWhine.
Desperately looking to recapture a shard of relevance and buzz.

Hard to do with a writer called "Assrocket".

2. honestly
I didn't see the pre debate coverage but he seems
giddy and possibly drunk in the post debate coverage.
I don't say that lightly but even before this thread
I thought he seemed lit up.

3. He's a diabetic--would fluctuating sugar levels make him appear intoxicated?

5. Actually, yes. That is possible.
I have no respect for Tweety, but in fairness I have to say that it's possible that this was a medical issue.

7. he was hospitalized for that not too long ago
And yes, his blood sugar levels might make him appear wonky, especially if he has a problem keeping his levels regular.

As I said, I watched the pre-debate, and he didn't seem wonked out to me. But of course, if what he said irritated any Clinton or Obama followers, I guess it's *okay* to infer he might be on a toot.

pathetic having to smear a guy because of health issues.

18. Yes, sugar levels out of whack can make someone appear drunk.
Being diabetic sucks. Luckily I'm not, but I grew up with one.

8. I didn't see the pre-debate. But I saw the post-debate. He seemed kinda hyped up...
but that's not overly unusual for him. He's a hyper kind of guy sometimes. Actually, I've noticed the past week or so that he's been more hyper than usual...a bit louder, more argumentative, interrupting people more. My guess: He's been instructed to act more lively in an effort to beef up ratings even more. (MSNBC has had a very good year, ratings-wise, I think....thanks in no small part to Tweety and KO.)

12. With as bad as he has diabetis I really don't think so.
I don't care for his show personally. Like most of the commentators on MSNBC he is a republican thru and thru. But to be drinking like they said he was would be very bad and could be fatal.

14. He was absolute horrible in his interview with Dean
He did not bash him so much, but he was insulting our Democrats terribly. Dean gave it right back to him.

But he was not acting like a interviewer should. It was weird.
