3. To bring back his glory days maybe?
Johnson went home in shame from Vietnam and I think he felt bad but I do not think we are going to see Bush think he made an error. Johnson was more down to earth and knew he could made errors but Bush seems to live in another way of thinking.

Edited on Mon Sep-03-07 07:36 AM by Submariner
Give me $50 billion more so I can stretch this lame ass lost cause out until I leave office so I can blame this mess on the Democrats. That's why...and the photo-op too.

9. That pretty much sums it up
And it is obvious the Repukes are in the full propaganda spin mode with Katie Couric reporting from Iraq, and Repukes backing her up with "the surge is working"and the corporate media is following the script to a "T"......Meanwhile the majority of Americans want us out of there and the Democrats better listen this time.
This propaganda surge seems to be well planned especially with the surprise visit.....Karl Rove may be gone but this a typical Rove maneuver..

http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=3552389

Gates, Condi, & bush are there now ...... "wants to look people in the eye
before making final decision on what to do in Iraq"

The decision has been made .... we are making progress and we are staying.

Maybe they should go to where Cholera has broken out among the Kurds.

15. Look people in the eye?
Like that worked so well with him regarding Putin.

Bush has to find 5 people who he can quote on what a terrific job we are doing over there and how history will reward him with a big gold star for being the very very best president ever.

Bush needs his ego stroked. He needs to strut his stuff one more him. He needs to show his daddy what a man he is.

6. Doesn't it cost $11,000 AN HOUR to fly AF1 within this country?
We pay for this publicity - meaning we pay for his lying opportunity and lie background.

10. Who taught....
...Motherfucker how to salute? Pick your flabby, weak upper arm up, Shitstain, so it's parallel to the ground. Cant your hand at a 20 degree angle rather than the sissy wave that you're doing. There's a reason why the warrior Generals are laughing in the background, clown - they're laughing at you.

13. Yeah, another right wing blowhard....
...who didn't serve when he was called. Duke my friggin' ass. (Although I give him props for calling Kennedy, "my President," even though Wayne didn't like him. That takes integrity unlike the current crowd of Swift Boat liars who pass themselves off as RepubliCONS).

11. Same old shit we've been hearing all summer: "See? The surge is working."
I'm guessing he won't go shopping on the streets or stroll through the neighborhoods, but he's there.

14. Bush visit forced to be surprise. Surge not working.
Edited on Mon Sep-03-07 10:27 AM by gulliver
Proving that the surge has not improved the security situation in Iraq, President Bush was again forced to visit the country unannounced. Heavily guarded, Bush confined his visit to six ours at the remote Al Asad Airfield, 111 miles from Baghdad. He is expected to leave the war torn country where 160,000 U.S. troops are currently deployed almost immediately.

"The surge has worked," said President Bush in a speech from within a heavily fortified hangar. "I am now standing on Iraqi soil. Well, not exactly, I'm on a floor," he quipped to laughter from the press and assembled troops.

Bush continued to insist that the surge was working despite the fact that even after four years, he still must visit the country only by surprise, and can now no longer visit Baghdad as he did previously. The surprise nature of the visit allows Bush to arrive and leave quickly, giving the tens of thousands of insurgents and the Iraqi Al Qaeda branch created by the war no time to react. Thus, the situation appears little changed.

"The situation in Iraq has changed," said Bush. "The progress in Anbar, means Americans can be proud of our accomplishments here. Our brave troops have done an outstanding job, despite the critics and naysayers. Soon, Iraqis will be able to stand and fight on their own."

Back to you Wolf.
