Did *'s Speech Today And His Comments About Viet Nam Resonate With......
his audience? Will he get any mileage out of this? Who believes like he does regarding the parallels of an Iraq withdrawal versus the Viet Nam withdrawal?

He said in his speech today that "The Price Of America's Withdrawal Was Paid By Millions Of Innocent Citizens."

Yeah - 58,000+ now have their names up on a wall in Wash.D.C. and the rest are their mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, kids, relatives and friends.

Unfortunately - American's withdrawal was too late for these people.

3. The millions he was talking about were part of the genocide in Cambodia
Bushed seemed to take advantage of the countries lack of memory to lean on regional crises of that time-that weren't about the US withdrawl from Vietnam-to make the horror of withdrawl seem as bad as possible. Typical.

All Bush wants is for someone else to take the blame for his catastrophic decisions. IF the DCdems can figure out how to do that, we'll be able to draw down our troops to garrison strength in the permanent bases in good order.

4. It sounded like he was trying to make the case that ending the Vietnam war was a bad thing
...which has to be the stupidest argument I've heard in a long time. It seemed like the type of crap you might hear from a drunk American Legion member sitting next to you at a bar. Not going to work.

5. God that wall.
That wall caused the most visceral reaction I have ever had to something of that nature. I shiver when I see pictures of it.

Some will still buy the bullshit, some always will but that number is getting smaller and smaller. We have to almost be at the point that it will not shift anymore.

6. Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-To-Die Rag

Yeah, come on all of you, big strong men,
Uncle Sam needs your help again.
He's got himself in a terrible jam
Way down yonder in Vietnam/Iraq
So put down your books and pick up a gun,
We're gonna have a whole lotta fun.

And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam/Iraq;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Well, come on generals, let's move fast;
Your big chance has come at last.
Gotta go out and get those reds/terrorists —
The only good commie/terrorist is the one who's dead
And you know that peace can only be won
When we've blown 'em all to kingdom come.

And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam/Iraq;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Huh!

Well, come on Wall Street/Halliburton, don't move slow,
Why man, this is war au-go-go.
There's plenty good money to be made
By supplying the Army with the tools of the trade,
Just hope and pray that if they drop the bomb,
They drop it on the Viet Cong/Al-Queada.

And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam/Iraq.
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Well, come on mothers throughout the land,
Pack your boys off to Vietnam/Iraq.
Come on fathers, don't hesitate,
Send 'em off before it's too late.
Be the first one on your block
To have your boy come home in a box.

And it's one, two, three
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam/Iraq.
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.
