That would make enough philosophic consistency and a straight forward populist message.

Governor Schweitzer and family

Congressman Dennis Kucinich on the Issues:

http://www.dennis4president.com/go/issues/

---------

IF anywhere near half the people who agree with Congressman Dennis Kucinich on the issues sent him a donation -- he would be a major top-tier contender very, very fast:

Donating through DU/ACT Blue is very fast. It's very easy. Do it now! I did...

link:

http://www.actblue.com/entity/fundraisers/12518

Whether or not you are convinced that Congressman Kucinich could possibly win...if you want the issues only Dennis Kucinich raises brought to the public square, if you believe his message of Strength through Peace is important, that the whole question of corporate control of government is important, that single-payer universal health care is important, if you believe American needs fundamental changes; his campaign needs a lot more money then it has in its coffers now.

Mr. Kucinich does not have the funding of the top-tier candidates. Corporate lobbyist seeking government favoritism for their special interest won’t be writing their $2300 checks paying for access like they do for other candidates. But small donations DO add up very, very fast. That's how the Dean campaign became a significant force in 2004.

Donating through DU/ACT Blue is very fast. It's very easy. Do it now! I did...

26. Thank you! I admit that its a long shot. But stranger things have happened. And it is possible.
Edited on Sun Aug-19-07 10:23 PM by Douglas Carpenter
But what is NOT such a long shot. And is entirely possible. And all the dynamics are there to make it happen -- Congressman Kucinich could become a top-tier candidate and his message and the issues he raises could be pushed by this campaign into the center of debate. That is more than just a little bit possible:

IF anywhere near half the people who agree with Congressman Dennis Kucinich on the issues sent him a donation -- he would be a major top-tier contender very, very fast:

Donating through DU/ACT Blue is very fast. It's very easy. Do it now! I did...

Edited on Sun Aug-19-07 10:10 PM by Oldenuff

While everyone seems to be blathering away about how wonderful their particular favorite is,I tend to look at where they stand on our basic freedoms.Of all the candidates, there are only 3 who do not support the Patriot Act.Kooch...Gravel...and Paul, are the only ones who care enough about freedom to stand against it.All the rest are just pretenders.

For me,the bottom line is our freedom.Immigration...taxation...healthcare...abortion...guns..and all the rest of the issues, pale in comparison to that of freedom.Any candidate who supports the Patriot Act (and all that other intrusive BS...Real ID Act..The new Passport rules etc.)won't have my support, but instead has earned my disdain.

So, assuming a large meteor did strike and Hillary, Obama, Edwards, and so on have been vaporized leaving the nomination to Kucinich, then that Mad Max guy would be helpful in the post-apocalyptic world.

37. In my perfect world...
I'd say Noam Chomsky. Al Gore would also be a great choice. And for those who say it is impossible

From ABC News

Who do you think won the Democratic debate?

Dennis Kucinich - 9,023

Barack Obama - 7,579

Hillary Clinton - 4,934

Joe Biden - 3,077

John Edwards - 2,829

Nobody won. I'm voting Republican. - 1,349

Bill Richardson - 936

Nobody won. I'm waiting for Al Gore to get in the race. - 936

Mike Gravel - 860

Chris Dodd - 186

Total Vote: 31,709

Like it or not Dennis is building momentum and could realistically be considered a 2nd tier or even top tier candidate fairly soon.

60. I think Kucinich would locate a provocative veep nom.
He'd choose him or her for his own reasons and he wouldn't care if we liked his choice or not, and that's in keeping with his admirably independent streak in nearly everything.

He might choose Elizabeth Holtzman.

Or Ramsey Clark.

Or New York TIMES columnist Bob Herbert.

Or Alex Baldwin (whose columns this past year or so on Huffington Post have been pretty darned good and very darned liberal. He's a Gore Democrat but if Gore didn't run I bet Baldwin would give Kucinich a close look.)

Or Howard Dean. If Senator Clinton is not the Dems' nominee, Dean's hand becomes very free at the helm as Chair, and I could see him joining the ticket with a low-profile interest in future service in an even higher position.

Or Julian Bond. I'd love to see any Republican veep nom try to debate Julian Bond. That would be an evening to remember.
