Angus Reid Global Monitor) - Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton has become the most popular United States presidential hopeful in the Sunshine State, according to a poll by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. At least 44 per cent of respondents would support the New York senator in head-to-head contests against three prospective Republican nominees.

Rodham Clinton holds a six-point lead over former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, a five-point advantage over actor and former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson, and is barely ahead of Arizona senator John McCain.

If the 2008 election for President were being held today, and the candidates were (the Democrat) and (the Republican), for whom would you vote?

Rudy Giuliani (R) 42% - 48% Hillary Rodham Clinton (D)
John McCain (R) 43% - 44% Hillary Rodham Clinton (D)
Fred Thompson (R) 41% - 46% Hillary Rodham Clinton (D)

Rudy Giuliani (R) 47% - 39% Barack Obama (D)
John McCain (R) 42% - 42% Barack Obama (D)
Fred Thompson (R) 41% - 43% Barack Obama (D)

Rudy Giuliani (R) 49% - 40% Al Gore (D)
John McCain (R) 44% - 43% Al Gore (D)
Fred Thompson (R) 42% - 45% Al Gore (D)

2. Resistance is Futile
All your votes am belong to Mrs. Clinton.

As a side note - by how much do you think will Mrs. Clinton win the general election if Nader or somebody else who favors actual Democratic principles enters the race? 99%? 98%?

4. So HRC does 14 points better than Obama against Ghouliani

He will only get weaker if he wins the nomination and the right-wing machine attacks him consistently. HRC has been savaged by the right-wing for years and will more or less remain at her current level in the polls.

5. all we need is florida and ohio
and to hold the kerry states.

It makes the rest of the south and the west irrelevent. But of course, we will be competitive in selective southern and western states to add more proability of victory. But in the end, we only really need ohio or florida.
