Is this for real? I go to Obama's web site and see a clip of him
talking at a town meeting about Iraq, healthcare and education. Edward's site is focused on Iraq and poverty in America. Richardson 's site features an article about his view on immigration. What's front and center on Hillary's web page? A "pick our campaign song" contest! Possibly the most important election in our generation is coming up, and she is talking to people about a campaign song? I'm all for having a sense of humor, but Richardson 's job interview ads show that you can be funny and serious about the issues at the same time. "Pick my campaign song is just plain insulting!

4. As with almost everything on all candidates' websites
I get e-mails from John McCain now because I wanted to see who his Final Four picks were (it was for an article I was writing). I guess I need to unsubscribe from that list.

2. It's real
and her campaign song contest has gotten more responses (comments on her blog, views on YouTube, etc.) than all of her issues-related videos put together. Most of the feedback has been positive, which I think is what she's going for. (BTW, they change the "front and center" portion of her website every day or two. This video just went up a couple of hours ago. I'm sure it will have something different in its place tomorrow or the next day). I don't find it insulting; I think it's funny.

3. Hillary is still pretending the race is hers to lose and that she can only hurt herself
She is playing not to lose.

She refuses to take any leadership, ownership or initiative because she doesn't want to whittle on her support.

She simply has her finger to the air, waiting to jump on whatever bandwagon is making the rounds each week in the Party.

Ugh.

7. If you have issues with her position feel free to say so.
Instead of manufacturing outrage at a silly little campaign thing that will be gone in a day or two.

21. Hardly digging
see that "Issues" tab on the menu across the top? Scroll your mouse over it and a drop-down menu shows up - the third selection is "Ending the War in Iraq."

So easy even a Hillary supporter can do it.

22. Funny. The OP was talking about the candidate's home pages.
Whatever. BTW- has Hillary decided how she's voting tonight? I'm sure you've heard...she HASN"T DECIDED YET! Or was that "NO COMMENT"? At least, that's the last that was reported.

All of this back and forth is really silly, I guess. Come gametime, Al will win the nomination so I guess all of this bickering is futile, eh?

10. Given that there's no way she can have a sudden conversion re Iraq,
Edited on Thu May-24-07 04:18 PM by patrice
you'd think she would at least put up a few trial baloons with ideas for how to achieve the security ends that she saw as so necessary that they "required" her commitment to what herr BullsHitler was doing in Iraq. You know, "Given this security need and obvious problems with plan A, here's plan B and if that doesn't work here's plan C." Or has she already done this and I just missed it, because I'm not giving her a fair break?

But then, maybe I can't give her a "fair" break, because "Nothing is off the table" is a deal breaker for me.

15. "Nothing is off the table" is a deal breaker for me.
I believe that comment was in reference to Iran. And was the position adopted by each of the Big 3

Here's Hillary's campaign site's page on Iraq

http://www.hillaryclinton.com/issues/iraq/

Hillary opposes President Bush's plan to escalate the war and proposed, along with Senator Robert Byrd, legislation to end authority for the war in Iraq. The legislation will propose October 11, 2007 -- the five year anniversary of the original resolution authorizing the use of force in Iraq -- as the expiration date for that resolution.

The President would be required to come to Congress to seek new authority. Following deauthorization, Senator Clinton would not support any new legislation that did not start to remove our troops from the middle of this sectarian civil war.

She has also proposed a cap on troop levels to January 1, 2007 levels and put forth a comprehensive roadmap for ending the war. If it is followed, Hillary's bill, the Iraq Troop Protection and Reduction Act of 2007, will end the war before the next president takes the oath of office. But she has also been clear: if George Bush refuses to end the war, when she is president, she will.

Hillary opposes permanent bases in Iraq. She believes we may need a vastly reduced residual force to train Iraqi troops, provide logistical support, and conduct counterterrorism operations. But that is not a permanent force, and she has been clear that she does not plan a permanent occupation.

The other candidates are running campaigns on the issues. hillary is just posting fluff because she expects a coronation.
