I missed most of Monica.. only heard a little at the last with Repugs
Edited on Wed May-23-07 12:30 PM by KoKo01
seeming to be "feeding her" instead of asking her questions. Had to leave again..but wondered if anyone has an update. Did she drop a bombshell...did Dems question her about anything specific that would catch her out?

She seems very young and inexperienced. I wonder if the Repugs are trying to show her as a victim?

Is there going to be an afternoon follow up with her?

4. The little I caught her voice was enough to make my head split!
:eyes: I was glad I had to leave but so worried I missed fireworks. If she had to be given immunity then I wonder what it was given for?

:hi:

5. Number Three at Justice "young and inexperienced?"
She's got a baby voice and a reputation as a fucking barracuda.

And she's definitely inexperienced. But that never stopped BushCo. They prize loyalty over competence, at every turn.

What is especially remarkable is that they love to put slavishly "sell-out loyal" minorities and underrepresented majorities (like females) in these high-level jobs (Gonzo, Condi, e.g.). That way, when they're thrown under the bus for some "I vas only followink ORDERS" fuckup, the right wing white bread old boys can scratch their balls and say things like "Ole Bush wuz jus' tryin' to be NICE to the (fill in race/ethnicity/gender/other category). A (fill in pejorative term to describe the individual) jus' wuzzen't the right candidate fer that job....after all, they're only good for (fill in stereotypical insult) and (fill in second stereotypical insult)."

Hell, the things write themselves--and by picking slavishly loyal underrepresented persons, BushCo accomplishes two things--they make it look like they're giving these "poor underrepresenteds" an honest chance (when they aren't) and second, it feeds into the dearly loved GOP idea that "these types" aren't "as good" as some fat white guy in the same job--see, we gave 'em a shot, but they jus' couldn't CUT it...

Of course, when you pick the WORST possible candidates from those underrepresented categories, you're gonna get shit. It's how it works. If you scrape the bottom of ANY barrel, you're gonna come up with crud.

6. Sennsebrenner wants to shut down the investigation
He says there is nothing there, and the government has wasted 260,000 trying to prove there is.

Isn't he the same Sennsebrenner who went along with and encouraged the investigating committees to pursue President Clinton and Whitewater, knowing full well the investigation found no connection. And how praised the committee for it's impeachment process all the while spending up to 80 MILLION DOLLARS on this investigation. Damn 260,000 thousand seems like chump change next to that doesn't it....Typical republican.

8. With each Republican Comm. member, the dialogue was obviously
orchestrated and rehearsed. She was animated and answered lightening fast and without stammering. She stammered plenty when answering Dem questions.

The Republicans made declarlations of wide applicability - same old stuff - serving at the President's pleasure - attempting to finalize the perception of those on the peripheral that there was nothing wrong.

I didn't hear it all, but the only one that really tried to manuever her specifically was Isa - trying to get her to admit that there was nothing in the Lam firing that was illegal and it was all about Lam's positions related to guns - nothing about the Abramoff-Bush partners deals (because they are saints and they need Dems to be saints especially in the area of guns and sex).

Her voice is ingratiating to pukes and will drive a normal person insane, they should send her down to gitmo to interrogate prisoners, they would confess in 20 minutes, guaranteed!
