Watching this crappy show die a slow death is sure going to be fun. The only thing worse than the format is the content; it's like conservative stand-up minus the laughs (pardon the redundancy). Until the producers realize that it's not funny to consistently rip on the ACLU and other liberal caricatures, the show will flop.

The genius of "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" — ya know, funny political satire – is that they actually "report" what's going on in the world with a satirical spin and without a partisan agenda…and they do it four days a week, every week. It took "The Half Hour News Hour" team over a month to churn out this garbage. I would have posted the dreadful Dennis Miller skit at the end but I couldn't do that to you guys.

The only thing funny about "The Half Hour News Hour" is how unfunny it is and how badly it's bound to flop.

Therefore, all they have to do is insult the left. But they're missing a key ingredient: What Stewart does in rooted in REALITY. OxyClinton visual is a perfect example: My reaction is, "It's Rush Limbaugh who's been immersed in Oxycontin, not Clinton!" And the joke falls flat!

Fox does their best satirzing of the news with their regular programming.

There's nothing funny about it. The "jokes" and "punchlines" are non-existent. Somebody spent over a month writing that crap?

In the 90's, I used to work in commercial radio. Sometimes I would run the board while another jock would broadcast from a bar. He fancied himself to be a comedian, and told me off-air while the song was playing, to start the next song when he delivered the punchline of a joke he was going to tell. Problem was he wasn't funny. So, the song ends and I pot up his mic. He starts talking. And talking.

Finally he says, "Start the song, Pete."

"Still waiting on that punchline, Rick"

funny, I just mentioned how quiet the Republicans have been forecasting they're busy building their slime machine. They try to pin Oxycontin on Hillary when it's riveted to Rush? And those symptoms of massive unemployment, chaos, rioting, bad healthcare--all products of the Bush monarchy, dont'cha know! They're operating in a vacuum, but then again they HAVE to, because rooting their jokes in reality the way TDS does would cause them to literally self-destruct.

The Half Hour CAN'T be funny because it's in a constant life-and-death struggle with becoming a hypocritical caricature of itself.
