www.ontheissues.org

Totally non-partisan and appears to be very honest! It's mainly based on candidates' voting records and statements. With the circular firing squad going full force already at DU :( I figured that this website would be a good tool for DUers who want to see what the candidates stand for without the spin.

1. A must tool for some I agree, I have a feeling far too many people
rely on one or two sources in order to achieve thier opinions, not a good idea, your site is a good start as well as searching for others.

I don't see the harm in questioning certain actions by certain candidates and doing a bit of investigating to find out the truth but some of the down and out vicious attacks on certain candidates that I have seen lately are nothing more than lazy present day media tactics...

And true Durs should know by now just how wrong using the same style of defaming others considering what the dems have had to put up with for far too long....

It does not help to become those you abhore...a few good reasons below why it is imperative you do NOT rely on today's present media outlets to aid you in finding out the truth...enjoy the freedom of the internet while you still can and read read read.....

Corporations have multimillion-dollar budgets to dissect and attack news reports they dislike. But with each passing year they have yet another power: They are not only hostile to independent journalists. They are their employers.
— Ben H. Bagdikian, The Media Monopoly, Sixth Edition, (Beacon Press, 2000), p. 65

The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum — even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there’s free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate. "We paid $3 billion for these television stations. We will decide what the news is. The news is what we tell you it is."
— station manager
of a Murdoch/News Corp.-owned station in Florida

The station manager is alleged to have said this to two of the station's on-air reporters, Jane Akre and Steve Wilson, when they refused to water down their investigative report on Monsanto's bovine growth hormone. When the reporters continued to resist management-ordered story changes which they felt were false and misleading, they were fired.

3. Thanks for an excellent resource. I notice that Al Gore is
listed as a candidate. I hope. I read all the positions on "Free Trade" and I like the one by Dennis Kucinich best. I hope the reality of what is happening to our exconomy will bring the other Democratic candidates toward Dennis' position.

4. Exconomy
That was a typo, but on second thought, it fits.

5. It is a good quick resource
Naturally it includes only a fraction of available data, but it's a good starting place.
