It's Newsdumpday!
Edited on Fri Apr-13-07 08:05 AM by spotbird
If Gonzo is going to bail, today is his last best chance. I'm betwixt and between about his leaving before his scheduled testimony. It would certainly delay the testimony, so I'd just as soon he stay on until next Newsdumpday. On the other hand, if he leaves, that's one person closer to Rove...

1. i bet he stays. he's too stupid to leave.
EVEN if Fred Fielding came up to him, said, "THINK. Think about your future, and your best friend's future." Gonzo would blink, stare that deer in the headlights stare that he has, blink again and then say, "OK. but, what does that mean?"

3. Gonzales can't leave
He's one of the inner-armor folks, and is far too close to Chimpy to just drop out and leave him vulnerable. They had to distance themselves from Rumsfeld for months, all the while protesting that Donald would stay on through the end of Chimpy's presiduncy before quietly cashiering him right after the 2006 election.

Gonzales isn't going anywhere just yet.

2. If they want to get some news out, today's the day
While everyone is still going on and on and on and on... regarding Imus, today would be an excellent opportunity to slide some things under the collective radar.

This Imus crap is having a two fold effect. The first being a nonstop torrent of non-news on every freaking channel. Secondly, people like me are becoming more and more turned off about the news. Last night was the first in a while that I did not watch Keith's show. I also could not stand to listen to several radio shows that I always catch.
