*** - Hints: Kay Bailey Hutchison's gotta be at least 80, right? Didn't she and and Strom Thurmond date in high school?? So how the hell does she end up with two kids under 12??? Must be adopted. Maybe a couple more of those McCain love-children???

And those stats on Michelle Bachman have got to be totally wrong. Last count I read somewhere I think she had at least 87 foster kids. All receiving public assistance.

And another thing. Why does the graphic read: "Who's Minding the Kids" in an article about women in Congress??? WTF?!?!?! What, are they all widows? So where's pops? How come he can't watch the damned kids!?!?! Why is it assumed that the Mom's HAVE TO BE the watchers????

From the punctuation in the graphic title, my iterpretation is it's not meant as an accusatory question, taking thse women to task, but rather pointing out which Congresswomen are literally "minding the kids (i.e., minors)" in addition to their official duties.

...I was just being facetious. But as for the slant (in my view) of the graphics's title, the last I checked, "minding the kids" was a joint-parental responsibility irrespective of gender. The article and graphic is about moms in Congress. Fine. Then why not just say: Congresswomen With Children?

To say it their way (at least to me) suggests that minding children is the purview of women in Congress. In point of fact, I don't ever remember seeing a similar article or graphic like this being run about the men in Congress. No one's asking whose minding the kids as it relates to fathers? Now why is that? As a matter of fact, why didn't they run one of those????

WTF kind of question is that? We pay these people very handsome salaries, so I assume they're easily able to afford appropriate child care.

What about working parents who have don't earn those handsome salaries?

Who's minding their kids and how are they managing to pay for care -- or doesn't anyone give a fuck still?

My kids are grown now, but I remember all too well the constant struggle and worry about meeting child care expenses on top of just surviving.

These "family values" assholes better stay far fucking away from me. Just thinking about their sanctimonious bullshit makes me bare my teeth.

What is wierd about this graphic is that they are all women!


Who's minding the kids? Who is minding the kids of all the men in congress.

It's inherently sexist.

Not to mention that is the vast majority of these 'kids' are adults -- then why do we even care? They saying that mothers (regardless of the age of the child) are suspect if they are in congress. And one Mom is certainly suspect by having her kid while in congress. But, in full disclosure, it's not a complete travesty because the vast majority of those kids are adults. However, obviously the writer strongly disapproves of even this.
