Impeachment resolutoin adopted by the Democratic Party of Oregon. . .
. . .March 10th and local papers didn't bother to report it.

Here's the resolution:
http://www.oregondemocrats.org/resolution_2007-777">RESOLUTION NO. 2007 – 777

http://159.54.226.83/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070404/OPINION/704040304/1050&template=printart">Call for impeachment was left unreported

April 4, 2007

In the March State Central Committee of the Democratic Party of Oregon meeting, John F. Bradach Sr., a veteran who lost his Marine corporal nephew in the Iraq war, introduced a resolution from the floor supporting "immediate investigative hearings ... into the Bush administration's misrepresentations to Congress, the American people and the United Nations which induced the Act of Congress regarding the use of force against Iraq." And "the commencement of impeachment proceedings against President George W. Bush and Vice President Cheney for high crimes and misdemeanors in the processes and propaganda which preceded the invasion of Iraq by the United States of America."

The central committee considered sending the resolution back to committee for further study, but after hearing a member of the central committee testify that the wording was in correct form, members adopted the resolution immediately by a resounding voice vote.

I missed seeing this in the newspaper. Was it overlooked or just regarded as not important that one of our state parties is calling for the impeachment of the U.S. president?

1. I live in Medford and that's the first I've heard of it.
The legislature passed a memorial against the surge. God I wish we would be the state to actually introduce impeachment in Congress.

. . .in Ashland back in the '70's. My how the years fly.

Might want to contact the State Party and ask if there are efforts underway to introduce the Party's resolution in the State Senate or House (assuming the assembly is still in session). If they aren't on it, might want to contact your State Rep and ask them to. Could be a longshot, but it never hurts to plant a seed.

Calling for investigation and, if found to be warranted, impeachment of Bush and Cheney.

Kudos to the Oregon Party!
