....reminds me of that wonderful anti-war comedy, Duck Soup starring the Marx brothers.

There's one scene where Groucho, as "Rufus T. Firefly, president of Freedonia", is preparing to declare war on neighboring Sylvania for some petty reason.

Louis Calhern, as Ambassador Trentino, turns to Firefly in desperation: "I'm willing to do anything prevent this war."

Groucho: "It's too late. I've already paid a month's rent on the battlefield."

You should re-watch this old classic--not only is it hilarious, but for a movie made in the '30's, it always seems eerily prescient.

I also recall that in the 1990s, a group got Congress to pass a resolution praising Freedonia's transition to a stable democracy as a joke to show how out of touch congress people are.
