Poll question: Has the 2008 Presidential campaign started too early?
The only reason I can think of for starting the race early is the eagerness to get Bush out of office. Am I right about that? Also, I am somewhat disturbed by the talk of who raises the most money. We desparately need electoral reforms in this country to limit that and allow other parties a chance to run for offices from the local level to the Federal level. Then we can truly be a "free country".

So the question is this. Do you think the campaign for 2008 has started too early?

1. Yes
We should be putting all of our energies and efforts in encouraging the Democrats in Congress to be more assertive and confrontational with Bush. We don't want them to backslide!

3. The thing that concerns me is it is too damn early!
I fear that many people are going to be so turned off with the campaign by next Christmas that they are not going to care either way and if Hillary gets the nomination it will be double jeopardy for the Democrats. It will be one step forward two steps back! It also does not help the fact that the Democrats have done little to get our people home from Iraq.

5. Unfortunately, the campaigns want to grab all the money and support now
so the battle has been joined months earlier than they would have been done.

BTW, 4 years ago, Howard Dean was in the single digits and getting no press.

7. Its not eagerness to get Bush out, in my opinion.
I think its eagerness to keep people from taking to the streets to lynch the SOB. We are being redirected, to look at the bright side in 2008 to keep our minds off the horror of the present.
