I'm so proud of my senator Specter
Senate Judiciary Committee took a vote on issuing subpoenas to White House aides.
When Leahy asked for the "ayes",
Specter clearly opened his mouth and seemed to move his lips.

He did not deny that his mouth might have opened during the call for "ayes",
but Specter denied saying anything, uttering any sound.

"The fact of the matter is that I did not say anything. I did not vote and say either 'aye' or 'nay'.
I just sat there hoping that it would all go away through negotiations," he said.
"Factually, I did not say a thing."

Specter refused to put Gonzales under oath for the hearing on the the administration's warrantless domestic surveillance program.
Specter was responsible for the change in the Patriot Act to make it easier to replace U.S. attorneys without oversight.

1. Ah, overall, he's not bad for a Republican.
That's a damn big qualifier, but even so...

6. Hey, don't hate a pig for not flying.
For one brief shining moment he contemplated rising out of the mud. The moment's gone, but the glory of it shall linger.

Amen.

2. "Specter refused to put Gonzales under oath"
I remember that exact occasion and how both Senators Finegold and Leahy were LIVID. :wow:

Let's all have a good thought that Arlen will FINALLY realize what a criminal Unitary Executive Branch we have been living UNDER? Hope springs eternal albeit he's repeatedly let us down in the past. Yes, I still have faith that Specter will place his beloved Country over party loyalty.

3. pROUD?
He has been the number 1 enabler in washington. In fact this whole mess is his doing because he let gonzales testify without taking the oath. That showed the white house they can say and do "whatevy". Also the patriot act and on and on. Hes enabler in cheif. Why should anyone be proud because he didnt vote yeah or nay. He sucks. Oh almost forgot he is the lamer that gave us the magic bullet theory. there you have it.

4. Well, I personally believe that Specter sort of believes in the rule of law. But I must say that I
watched him a lot on C-SPAN during Republican majority and he bended over backward to let the chimp off the hook every time.

He talks a lot of sanctimonious bull, but when the rubber hits the pavement (action), he's no where to be found. Just my opinion.

A chimp yes man
