Santorum joins DC law firm - Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott

Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum has joined Downtown law firm Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, LLC in its Washington, D.C., office to provide business and strategic counseling services to the firm's clients.

Mr. Santorum, a conservative Republican who lost his re-election bid Democrat Bob Casey in November, has been working as a professional speaker. He served 12 years as a senator and four years in the U.S. House of Representatives before that.

Tim Ryan, chief executive officer at Eckert Seamans, said the firm is "extremely pleased" to add Mr. Santorum to its staff.

"He is highly respected among business leaders and we are very fortunate to have him as part of our firm," Mr. Ryan said in a news release

Well, this seems better than having him on the Supreme Court: Rick Santorum will join Fox News as a contributor. The news was broken by FishbowlDC and confirmed to Eat The Press by a Fox News spokeswoman. A formal announcement is coming.
