Dan Abrams on Gonzales FRAMING attempt
Gonzales didn't fool Dan Abrams, who obviously has read Lakoff's book on framing.

Abrams said that today's presser was an effort to FRAME the scandal and LIMIT the discussion to "poor communication to Congress."

Bingo, Dan. They are trying to do a "sixteen words" action here. It might work yet again for them.

Push back, journos! Push back, everyone who writes LTTEs!

Don't let them get away with this.

1. With Leahy leading the troops on the Senate Judiciary Comm,
it's not going to work this time. Alot of folks are going to be answering questions under oath.

The bottom line is that Bush and company tried to use the Justice Dept. to maintain Repub control of the House and Senate. The Dems know that, and that's where they will focus.

2. this is what Gonzales said
"Obviously I am concerned about the fact that information — incomplete information was communicated or may have been communicated to the Congress," Gonzales said. "I believe very strongly in our obligation to ensure that when we provide information to the Congress, it is accurate and it is complete. And I very dismayed that that may not have occurred here."

That is what he takes responsibility for. This very narrow aspect.

5. I suspect that this issue means a lot to Dan
His father being a famous attorney, he probably has a lot of contacts in the profession.

I wonder what the ABA thinks of the firings. I haven't heard anything from them.
