Rhinelander Soldier Found Dead In His Quarters
23-Year-Old Was Stationed In Alaska

FORT WAINWRIGHT, Aka. -- Officials from Fort Wainwright said that a soldier from Rhinelander, Wis., was found dead inside his base home by a friend.

Officials said that the cause of Pvt. Cory J. McCann's death hasn't been determined.

A base spokeswoman didn't return phone calls to The Associated Press on Thursday night seeking more information.

The 23-year-old McCann was a cannon crewmember assigned to the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.
