Bush versus Kerry: Bonesman versus Bonesman
Did you know that John Kerry is a member of Yale's secret Skull and Bones Society? The significance is hard to gauge, considering the secrecy of Skull and Bones.

I was researching an article about Geronimo for one of my websites, when I came across the following article from the Yale Herald:

http://www.yaleherald.com/article.php?Article=2523

Draw your own conclusions.

2. thanks for sharing
I'd be more interested in the rest of your Geronimo info.

The Kerry Skull and Bones nonsense has been thoroughly covered here. :-)

3. The rest of my Geronimo information will be pretty much the same info
you would get from any reference. I'm working on a "Kids' Politix" website, that will feature information about politics and government for each of the 50 states - including a few representative heroes and zeroes from each state. I'm tentatively listing Mangas Coloradas, Cochise, Geronimo, Sterward Udall and John McCain as Arizona heroes (at least until I find time to research more people).

This is an interview with the author of a book who was mentioned in the original post. Interesting, weird stuff there.

7. because Kerry has a long public record
Skull and Bones buffs irrationally pay attention to the unknown, and ignore the real.

Also, John Kerry was on Nixon's enemies list, and is an obvious threat to the RW, and therefore any attack on him should be considered to be a RW smear first.

10. I like Kerry
The society just creeps me out. I have no idea if he was ever involved with other members after college.

14. there's a serious campaign all over the Internet
using it against Kerry, saying his loyalty is to the frat first, and implying he is in cahoots with Bush. The campaign was louder back when Kerry looked like more of a front runner than he is now.

4. JFB, I'm concerned about this.
I've commented on this issue before. Some people feel this is 'Much Ado About Nothing', but I think it's 'A Little About Something'.

First of all I think Secret Societies have no place in the Oval Office. Fraternities are one thing, but this is a club where you have to swear allegiance, do everything you can to foster cronyism (meaning, hire your Bones-Brother; give him an official post in the White House), and have secrets. Lots of them.

Next, you have secret meetings where you rub Geronimo's skull. You take a vow never to criticize your Brother. Even if he is the PResident of the country.

See the problem that creates for Kerry? I highly suspect that's why he's been so mealy-mouthed about saying anything about Bushya. And what about if he's elected? Will he pick up the mantle of the Criminal Enterprise, because he has taken a vow, maybe in blood, never to critize George?

11. Cocoa, I'm glad to hear that.
I've mentioned on other posts that my TV is turned off permanently. I only get my news on the Internet and here at the DU.

I don't read political threads because there's too much fighting!

Anyway, I'm Very Happy to hear that.

Thanks!

15. do you think the "vow" theory is possible?
that's what I was refuting, the idea that Kerry took a vow not to criticize Bush.

Not a vow to "capitulate more often than not", a vow never to criticize Bush.

19. Alexandra Robbins says Skull members should not be running the country
Excerpt from link above (Guerrilla News Network interview):

Skull & Bones (Part II)
"This is just the way American business works."

Q:So is the elitism and classism that we see in these societies, whose roots and traditions were essentially laid down by the architects of the nation and its constitution, is this not a microcosm of white conservative America and all the groups that seek to control?

Robbins: I think certainly Skull & Bones is the pinnacle of American business as usual. This is just the way American business works. There are old boy networks and they propel each other to positions of authority. However, Skull & Bones is sort of… if the Ivy League is a distillation of that and alumni networks from Yale or Harvard or Penn or Brown are distillations of that distillation, then Skull & Bones at Yale is almost like the elite of the elite. This is the very top level of how those networks work. The problem is that Skull & Bones is an overly conservative regressive organization that really belongs to an Ivy League that doesn’t exist anymore. And the fact that these very traditional members do reach such high levels of power in so many aspects of America today is a little disturbing because only 15 members are initiated each year. So for such a tiny club to have such influence on America when the members of this club don’t reflect the rest of the country, is a bit distressing.

Q: Right… So what can we foresee in the future? It seems like despite the erosion of traditionalism with people like yourself, who tend to scoff at these traditions, many others still seek the power and elitism that comes with it… So what is going to be the fate of these clubs? Because it seems like as the traditions erode, the power that the initial founders had in mind is only starting to take root.

Robbins: Unfortunately, I don’t think that the traditions are going to continue to erode. I think the fact that Skull & Bones has another president in power is just another mode of encouragement that will lead it to continue its traditions and lead it to continue to do what it has always done. And I think the current political scene is probably evidence of that. In 2000, let’s look at the four men who were on the ballot. You had George W. Bush, a member of Skull & Bones. You had Al Gore, a graduate of Harvard. You had Dick Cheney who is distantly related to a family of Skull & Bonesmen. And you had Joseph Lieberman who was a member of another secret society at Yale. In 2004, it could very well be the first Bones vs. Bones ballot, with George W. Bush against Senator John Kerry, a 1966 graduate of Skull & Bones. It seems that we see the same cycles of people over and over again and, as much as we say this is 2002, this is America, this is a democracy, we are still seeing the candidates coming from the same tiny political pool.

Q: So how do you feel about that? Describe the implications for us.

Answer: Frankly I don’t think members of Skull & Bones should be running the country. I don’t feel comfortable with a group that’s historically been misogynistic, has had anti-Semitic members, has been prejudiced in the past, and has been linked with Hitler and the atomic bomb. I don’t think these people should have such an influence on our country, and yet we see them in journalism, in business, running the CIA, running the Supreme Court and running the U.S. government. I think the only way to tear this society down is to penetrate its secrets and to spread awareness about it so that people know what’s going on and when they see politicians capitalizing on Skull & Bones, constituents can call them on it.

25. Some believe that Kerry will protect the Bushes due to his kinship...
in "The Order of Skull and Bones" whose primary purpose is the acquisition of global power for its members (and protection by the "Brotherhood" BY the "Brotherhood" of Bonesmen.

THAT is why it matters to me.

I do not care WHAT Kerry says. As long as he does not utterly renounce and expose this corrupt secret order of spooks and fascists of which he is a member, I oppose him.

26. Read the Above linked Guerrilla News article by a Yale graduate
or read the Ron Rosenbaum articles at the New York Observer nd tell me its all conjecture and short on facts.

There are plenty of solid facts that this is a criminal racketeering orgnization whose primary purpose is the acquisition of power and money and the protection of its members by secrecy and oaths of loyalty.

If Kerry took such an oath then he has sworn to protect the Bushes.

Neither was Bill or Hillary Clinton (and yes, law students do get asked once in a while).
