1. Don't usually even open these '08 threads ...

I'd get over it though ;)

5. That will be really good.

I would really like a Gore/Vilsack or Gore/Richardson ticket though... the former is populist and the latter brims with expirence AND populism. This would be a "Save the World" campaign and it would hurt the senate if we lost Russ....what are the chances we would get another one like him, even in left-center Wisconsin?

9. I don't know the chances of another Russ
but I think the chances of Obama and Hillary succeeding are very slim. I am for change and Hillary and Bill are just too close to Pappy for my taste. We must run a presidential candidate that will give us a fresh start IMO. Peace on earth. Kim

7. Gore/Feingold...sounds good to me!
Feingold spoke loudly against Bush before it was popular.

12. Sounds Good!

Feingold is great (and would be a fantastic President) but probably wouldn't be popular enough for a serious Presidential run; and it certainly seems that "popularity" is Job One with American Electorate (alas).

Edit: I've been up too long; Obama wasn't mentioned...

if Tom Barrett runs for his seat.

15. Gore lost to the idiot.
He would never beat a candidate who can speak in complete sentences. Gore had his shot and he fucked it up. You have to be pretty stupid to lose to bush.

Perhaps you were in a coma then?

18. Hillary = Old Democrats / Obama = Sparkle But Not Enough Substance

Al Gore = The Man Who is Trying to Save the World

I could get behind that.

19. Saw Gore on the Today show this a.m.
He did great, and Matt asked/prodded/hypothesized from at least 4 different angles the WILL YOU RUN in 08 question and Gore repeatedly said - "I have no intention of running." Finally, Matt did get Gore to acknowledge he has "not totally ruled it out."

Ummmmmmmm. I'd love to see Gore run and I'd love to believe he has a "plan" and all these emphatic denials are part of that plan....but, don't want to waste too much energy on wishful thinking.

27. It's gotta be Gore
LWolf - that's quite a signature. Looks like someone doesn't respect the primary process!

All this speculation about who should be the running mate ignores the fact that it's up to the Presidential nominee.

So, just to re-cap ...

We get to decide who should be the Democratic nominee for President.

Then the nominee gets to pick a running mate.

Don't worry - next time it will not be Lieberman. I guarantee you!

In Gore We Trust :-)

29. I would consider Gore.
I'd like a change of heart on his part over NAFTA/CAFTA.

You are correct about not respecting the primary process; not when the best are marginalized as the less than ideal are promoted. If "frontrunners" are already "decided" by tptb at this point, and that's who we get because that's who gets the promotion, then it's a rigged game that ensures the status quo.
